I've been wondering if they're regretting not self-imposing a bowl ban last year, with the likelihood that the NCAA wouldn't add this year to it.  Would've shown the NCAA that they considered the infractions to be serious, instead of the cavalier punishment they gave themselves.  Sure, they would've penalized last year's seniors, but the prospects for them having a good season last year weren't great anyway, because of all the turmoil.  Now they have a senior class that may well go unbeaten, but can't play for a Big Tedozen championship or be in a bowl game.  No shot at a national title.  They will always wonder "What if...."

Oh, and there are only three bowl eligible teams in the nation this morning.  Oregon, South Carolina and OHIO.

Those teams are going to be very tired for any sort of conference title game.

Only one of the 4-0 teams has a conference championship game. WVU, Louisiana Tech, Cincinnati, and UTSA all play in conferences that don't have a conference championship game (and are therefore able to schedule regular season games on that championship weekend). Oregon State's first game (against Nicholls State) was canceled due to the hurricane coming ashore in the Nicholls State area. I don't believe it was reschedule, so they'll only have 11 regular season games.

Good stuff clearing some of that up.  Also, UTSA has actually played 5 games, but at least one was against a DII school.
