Was reading the WSJ tonight and saw this.

Due to circumstances beyond the AD's control every team on our schedule decided to collectively suck this year....not that they collectively or individually are better any other year but there are some pretty bad records on this schedule.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

The game loves and rewards those who love and reward the game

And you know what, 20-19 is the record of Alabama's first 6 opponents: Mich (4-2); WKU (5-1); Arkansas (3-4); Florida Atlantic (1-5); Ole Miss (4-3); Mizzou (3-4).  And they're #1.  One reason why I don't read the WSJ; they too often overlook facts.

Interesting you both took that interpretation.

It could just as easily have been "The hard work is behind them and the remaining path makes them likely to go undefeated so people should start to pay attention"

Also in the Sunday WSJ there was a Ben Cohen piece.

That is how I took it.

I've seen crazier things happen.

Maybe I'm just being overly defensive.  But your interpretation doesn't quite stand up either, given that our first seven opponents are a combined 11-33.

That may be, but I'll take that over our first seven opponents being 18-26 and Ohio being 0-7.

I'll repeat a sentiment that has probably been repeated about 1814 times on this site:  It really is nice to be able to be worried about things like this, isn't it?

Also wanted to let you all know that the Washington, DC commute newspaper, "Washington Examiner" had a blurb about OHIO as well.  Felt good reading this on the train to work this morning.  Hope the link works!!

Just pointing out that with the remaining opponents having a considerably better record than the teams we've already played, the hard work is ahead of us, not behind us.

Whatever interpretation you put on these things, I find it instructive to read comments by presumably disinterested or objective observers.  We can argue among ourselves all we want but let's be honest, we all have the green and white flu.  Sometimes a little perspective is needed, even if you don't want to hear it.

I found this comment in the Examiner story interesting: Fortunate scheduling has helped. Ohio opened the year by upsetting embattled Penn State, which has rattled off four straight wins of its own. With Miami of Ohio (3-4, 2-1), Eastern Michigan (0-6, 0-3) and Ball State (4-3, 2-2) ahead, the Bobcats have a good chance of remaining undefeated until at least their final regular-season game, when they will face Kent State (5-1, 3-0). The MAC championship and a bowl come after that.

It failed to mention BG! Elsewhere on our site, I've probably scored some disfavor by noting BG does not suck ... and is another potential barrier! By the way, did you know OUr remaining schedule is just plain fowl: Redhawks, Eagles, Falcons, Cardinals and Golden Flashes (Flash the Golden Eagle)?

If they were trying to take a jab at us that is the stat they would have focused on.

Wow! That is a fowl section of the schedule!

Bingo.

By saying their wins are only 11-33 it makes us look bad.
By saying what they did it makes it look like we should go undefeated.

Unfortunately, we don't play the Bluejays :(

GOOD! The designated hitter is a travesty.
