Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere on the board. I didn't search really hard :)

On the off chance that we don't make the BCS :) is there any way for us to get into a bowl other than the lousy bowls with MAC ties?

So even if we go 13-0, we'll still just have to play in the Motor City Bowl or the GMAC or Potato or some other nondescript bowl? Is that right?

If that's the case, it really bums me out.

The Pizza or GMAC is where an unbeaten MAC champion that is not invited to the BCS would land by existing contracts.

This doesn't mean that deals can't be cut.

The bowls we have contracts with don't automatically get the champion, second place, etc. like many conferences. Rather, they get to pick any eligible conference team in their defined order, which rotates annually. Assuming we finish undefeated, I'm guessing the first game in line would want us... but a deal could be cut between another game, that game, and the conference, but the other game would have to want us pretty badly. Don't know the odds of that happening, but I doubt they're all that high.

For what it's worth, 12-1 Ball State played in the GMAC in 2008.

A nice bowl would be the Beef O Brady in Tampa/St Pete on Dec 21st. Played indoors at Tropicana Field. Marshall was in it last year. I think we could muster a great crowd , lots of direct flights from the midwest and , doesn't impede on the holiday too much.

Enough with these food bowls. Pizza, potatoes and beef? Liberty Bowl would be nice and easy travel to Nashville. We've already proven with the NCAA tournament we can get fans there.

You people are fools if Tempe, Miami, NOLA, or Los Angeles aren't tops on your list right now.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the Liberty Bowl is in Memphis not Nashville. Still great place to visit with world famous BBQ, but not quite as nice as Nashvegas.

FAIL. I knew that didn't look right as I was typing it. Music City Bowl in Nashville, Liberty in Memphis. Either one would be good.
