I'm focusing the undefeateds for the first 2:

1.) Rooting for the undefeateds (as they should help us maintain/gain points):

Oregon beats Arizona State YES
Kansas St beats West Virginia
O$U beats Purdue

2.) Knock 'em out:

Alabama losing to Tennessee
Florida losing to South Carolina
Norte Dame losing to BYU
Oregon St. losing to Utah
Miss. St. losing to Mid-Tennessee
Rutgers losing to Temple
Cincinnati losing to Toledo

3.) Trendin' Water (2 of these should help us maintain our ranking, the more over 2 the better)*:

Stanford losing to Cal
Michigan losing to Michigan St.
Boise St. losing to UNLV **
Texas Tech beating TCU
Northwestern losing to Nebraska
Texas losing to Baylor
Wisconsin losing to Minn.

* Based on the previous rankings this season and the odds/lines from the other games.
** The hell-freezing-over moment of the season would be this happening.

edit: mis-read note about TCU/TT
UPDATED after wins

I know we are all rooting for Toledo to beat Cincinnati, however, has anyone considered the possibility of Toledo jumping us in the polls, especially considereing we don't play this weekend? Just a thought.

I think they could get to 27th at best IF they completely blow out Cinci. @7th is extremely generous.

If they did jump us on the polls, then it is a new day in the MAC. Honestly.. I wouldn't be that upset. It would only mean good things for OHIO in the long run

You know what Frank Solich likes most about coaching in the MAC? While he gets older, his coaching competition stays the same age, man.

The real O-H-I-O

Nor worried. We control OUr destiny. We win out we will either play them or then likely whoever beats them prior in the MAC championship game. The more ranked MAC teams the better. I like "considering" that N. ILL could also get ranked - consider that, 3 ranked MAC teams - not impossible that could happen, especially if all 3 Toledo, N ILL and OHIO all win bowl games and finish the season w/no more than 1 or 2 losses.

I agree. I think if things roll OUr way this weekend it's possible to see two MAC teams in the AP polls.
