Here are the first ballots I've found for this weeks AP Top 25

#23 (Penn State #25)

http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/owlsinq/Keith-Pompeys-AP-ballot-Alabama-Oregon-West-Virginia-Penn-State-South-Carolina-Florida-.html

#18 (Ahead of Boise!!)

http://blogs.clarionledger.com/msu/2012/10/21/this-weeks-ap-top-25-ballot-7/

If this is the overall trend, Ohio could make a decent jump in the AP.

I doubt we will move up since we did not play.
I predict we are unchanged from last week.

AP_Top25_Voters

Add this to your Lists in Twitter and you can watch on Sunday morning as each voter blogs his AP football ballot. My new Sunday morning ritual!

It's fairly obvious we will land between 21 and 23 this week.

We've also risen to #18 in the Sagarin ELO Chess rating.  We were #25 last week.

He also has Cincinnati at 22 (only dropping 1 spot) and TCU at 23 (staying the same).  So, I don't give him much merit.

Where are those people why say style points don't matter?

What to do with Ohio?

* The most difficult question on my ballot is Ohio, which is 7-0 but also ranks 173rd in strength of schedule (behind about half the FCS schools). After beating Penn State to open the season (quality win), Ohio has beaten a string of bad programs. Its last three victories are over UMass, Buffalo and Akron, who are a combined 2-20. Ohio’s average win margin in those games is 5 points.

And we get a bump technically to 17 on that due to OSU.  I think we enter the BCS for the first time ever.

The Cats are #23 in the Coaches Poll...

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/polls/coaches-poll/

Quote:
No. 23 Ohio makes its first appearance in the coaches poll since USA TODAY Sports took over its administration in 1991. The Bobcats had the weekend off but climbed into the rankings thanks to their 7-0 start. Ohio also becomes the first Mid-American Conference team to crack the top 25 since November 2010 when Northern Illinois was ranked.

Palm's "guesses" looking dumber and dumber.  Just used last week's Coaches poll numbers.  We more than doubled in votes, from 54 to 132.

Also, Toledo with 30, NIU with 14, Cincy somehow with 51.

At this point, the AP poll is virtually meaningless. We're in the coach ranks and we'll probably be in Harris as well. Those are what matter.

Just read a AP ballot that doesn't rank us but has Toledo at 23 and Penn State at 25.  I'd be outraged, but it doesn't even matter.

BCS rankings is basically a lock at this point.

Toledo #26 and NIU has 5 votes as well.

23 in the Coaches Poll, as well.  Should put us in the BCS standings.  Toledo is 31 and NIU is 35.

We will get by.

Definitely looks like we're a lock for a bcs top 25, I would even guess being ranked 23rd.  Can't wait to be in Oxford next weekend.

According to his projections we have beat the worst three FBS schools in the Country (UMASS, NMSU, & Akron). The ratings have EMU as the 6th worst. If we are rated at #24 after these 7 wins and strength of schedule, things should pick up a little when we face BG, Ball State, & Kent State. Then hopefully an undefeated in MAC team of NIU or Toledo!

I'm nervous about the Miami game though and like everyone says, go 1-0 for the week!

BCS top 25 is big.  I'm not thinking that because of a BCS birth necessarily, I'm thinking that because now our name will be mentioned on every scoreboard show, and our highlights shown on those type of shows.  HUGE!

I'll enjoy seeing our logo on the bottom line and in monitors and scrolls all over at work, too.

And those Palm rating "predictions" are just last week's ratings, with updates for the couple of things that are already out.  I'd not be surprised by 22 or 23.

Agreed.  We jumped Texas in the coaches poll...  I think they could lose some votes in the Harris too, and that hasn't been updated yet.  Penn State is really helping us in the computers.
