..that suddenly, unexpectedly it was the offensive side that didn't make the plays in a tight game.

...that T2 showed frustration and lost his poise, not just on the last play but other times as well.

........we let a passing team develop a running game for their first time all year.  Props to the defense for making adjustments as the game went on.  But we have to find a way to be better in the 1st Quarter, our lack of defense to start the game is really putting us in a bind.  Especially with the offense usually taking almost a whole quarter to get started too.

.......we chucked it all over the sandlot against a bad run defense.  Extremely disappointed in the offensive gameplan.  I don't remember a run outside the tackles that wasn't successful other than an option play.  Looked like Albin pushed the panic button as soon as we fell behind.

...given the way the game progressed, OUr team persevered, never ever raising a "white flag," and had a chance to win in the final seconds. And though I wouldn't say I was surprised by that, I was still impressed.

Miami was stuffing the run early. It wasn't until we mixed it up that the run game started working.

I definitely didn't get that feeling.  Look back at the drive chart.

1st offensive play of the game, 8 yard rush.  Followed by an incompletion and then a sack.  Gave the ball right back and Miami marched down and scored again to make it 10-0.   Drive 2 we did get stuffed and forced us into throwing situation on a 2nd down. Drive 3 started with a 9 yard rush, that set up a long pass, and eventually a TD featuring a mix of runs & passes.  Drive 4 we dropped back five straight times PUNT.  Drive 5 started with a short run then long run, then medium passes and another long run.  Tried to give it away by dropping back 3 stright times but converted the 3rd & 10.  TT scampered in for the TD.   Drive 6 got stuffed on 1st down followed by 2 incompletions PUNT. Drive 7 was a garbage time play that went for 8 yards on the ground.

Of the runs in the first half five of them were for 2 yards or less.  Five were also for 8 yards or more including three over 15.  Not what I consider getting stuffed.

I love throwing the ball around but I'm a big believer you play to your strengths and then to the other team's weaknesses.  It's my opinion our strength is running the ball and Miami's weakness is ground D.  Seems like a no brainer on the gameplan.  Commit to the run and it will pay dividends later in the game.  If you're completely being stuffed I'm all for a change in game plan at some point (perhaps half time) but that simply wasn't the case in this game.  I felt like Albin was trying to make up for the too conservative play calling in the 4th Quarter of the Akron game that he openly addmitted was poor.

Several people in our section said the same thing as early as the first half.  TT was not having a good day and not making good decisions and good reads.  I don't know how many times he optioned to an RB who was running into the tooth of the defense when the outside was clear for at least ten yards.  It wasn't until the 4th quarter that he seemed to see that the D was collapsing inside and leaving the outside open much of the time.  I know that it's easier to see things sometimes from the stands than from the field, but usually this is the type of thing that TT sees very well and makes good, quick decisions on.  Don't know what was wrong with his judgement on Saturday, but there was something going on.  And, to have totally forgotten that there were no TOs left after guiding the team down the field in a minute and half is mind boggling.  I suspect he was the only one in the whole stadium who forgot that most salient fact.  Again, we are all human and make mistakes.  For me, I'll forgive and move on.  GO OHIO!
