Brent Pry out at VaTech after the program's first 0-3 start since 1987. He gets a $6 million buyout. OC Phillip Montgomery takes over as interim HC.

And Foster out at UCLA.

And Gundy is on the clock for sure. Probably will be next?

What's wild about this is since those teams hadn't played four games, their players are eligible for redshirts if they haven't redshirted already, and maybe those who already have can get waivers. They are free to enter the transfer portal today.

If the NFL Titans don't start winning a few games, both Callahan(s) will be toast. The older one used to coach Nebraska.

Ding ding. Whomever was pressuring the ADs/Presidents to make these moves instead of waiting another week obviously didn't read the rules. It's totally possible for one of these teams to not have enough players to fill a roster here in the next couple of days.

Especially those who haven't taken a redshirt yet and have a year of eligibility they can tack on. That situation is about to get very very ugly for both schools

The way I hear it (unconfirmed) is that UCLA hasn't started classes (quarters) but that he would have to find somewhere (serious about football) that also hasn't started classes and that would be highly unusual.

While technically true that the UCLA and VaTech guys have 30 days to bolt, it might not be as simple as it sounds. YMMV

Can't you enroll at most schools like up to two weeks after classes start? That's a lot of catching up to do, but it seems to me that I remember students enrolling late and being accepted.

As always, it will likely only hurt the 'lower tier' guys. Zero percent of me would be surprised to see a guy like Nico transfer out, happily sit until the following semester starts, because he's being paid anyway and start playing in December, like NBA free agency.

Watch him show up to Florida State and make a run on Castellanos, be ready for a CFP push and hope to start the following year.
