I could be wrong, but I think there is a sentence fragment and perhaps some spelling errors here.

Before anybody takes a giant leap of faith based on the win over EMU or the one that is going to happen vs Akron, this is what unbiased TeamRankings.com has to say about some things...

After beating E Michigan 72-66, Ohio is now projected to finish the regular season 15-15 (8-10 MAC).

• The odds that the Bobcats make the NCAA tournament are currently 5%.

• We currently rank Ohio as the #184 team in the country, and the #6 team in the MAC.

RealTime ranks EMU at #214 I think(?) unless I saw it wrong.

What people need to really be concerned about is the future. About obscure recruits like the kid who looks like Jesus being a starter someday when Block/Dartis/Laster are gone. About the lightly regarded 7-footer who weighs less than 200 pounds out of North Carolina being depended on against athletes with muscles. People will look back at this season and refer to it as "the good old days when we went .500 overall and almost went .500 in the MAC."

After six MAC games only Buffalo and Toledo have the edge. The Bobcats could possibly end up 9-9 and get a 4th/5th/6th seed. The MAC is once again a one bid league.

So I've been doing this ketogenic diet since New Year's. Lost about 9 pounds so far. But the best thing about it is that it's confirmed to me just how much I enjoy bacon. All pork, really. Like, I don't think I've had maybe 2 meals in the past 3 weeks without bacon, sausage, or some other cut of pig. The other day, I had bacon topped with sausage.

Hopefully my heart doesn't die, but so far I think my blood pressure is actually down. Carbs are pretty much the devil apparently. I do miss ice cream though.

I saw some website rank every episode of "Black Mirror". It ranked "Be Right Back" number one. I watched it this weekend. Not bad, but it's no "San Junipero".

If you've seen the new season USS Callister blows them all out of the water.

Every team in the country loses older players every year and relies on young recruits developing to remain any good moving forward.

By almost everyone's accounts, it looks like we will be better next year, not worse. We lose Laster and Mickle but are set to return everyone else. Dartis, Block, Kirk and Taylor all started last game. Were they decent recruits for Saul?

Mike Laster wasn't that highly regarded when Saul recruited him. It seems like that worked out OK. AJ Gareri is raw but has talent. Please find me a 7-0 kid you think we should be recruiting... If you want 7-footers at Ohio, your best shot to do that is find a kid with some potential and help them develop into a better player.

We've lost (arguably) our best player each of the last two seasons to injury. How many MAC teams would finish over .500 in a similar situation?

Bashing young players and recruits is one of the worst overreactions you could possibly have.

I've seen crazier things happen.

I need to lose about 15 pounds. The all-pig diet sounds intriguing, but it would make it hard to keep Kosher!

Teams with shuttles for their fans at bowl games win 76 percent of the time.

You could do it with beef instead of pork, but you need to supplement your meat intake with dairy, and that'll be a problem.

I feel like instead of 2XL shirts, they should have XLT (tall) and XLW (wide)...and 2X should be both tall & wide. Congress better get involved on this.

That's an astute observation Andrew. Lumping everyone together into 2XL seems antiquated and has a faint smell of exclusion (those people). Why should tall people and "wide" people (is that the PC term? hahaha) all get lumped together?

If this isn't a call for action, I don't know what is.

Travesty right there.

Just make sure Congress acts on this AFTER their speed of ketchup flowing study. I've been waiting on that one with baited breath for 10 years!

Not all post players have to be 7-0 but a program in a better mid-major conference should do better than a guy ranked as the #3167 high school player in America. (per MaxPreps) I know Ohio isn't going to beat out Kansas and Duke for guys in the top 100 nationally, but the kid is not even ranked in the top 100 of North Carolina. >> That is NAIA level. <<

According to ESPN's recruiting page there are a number of ranked power forwards who still haven't signed and almost all of them are out west. I'm pretty sure Southwest Airlines flies from Columbus to Denver, Phoenix, Albuquerque, and southern Calif. Signing a scrub and hoping for some miracle breakthrough is real extreme longshot compared to getting a guy that is confirmed to have a decent level of athletic talent. There is a 2-star 7-footer in Columbus,MS with an offer from Southern Miss who hasn't signed yet. There are a number of legit power forwards and centers in juco class of 2018 who haven't signed yet. And then there is being willing to settle for...

(I'm not bashing the kid, I'm bashing Saul)

You're saying you aren't bashing the kid right after you claim we are "signing a scrub." That seems like a pretty blatant knock on his talent.

Maxpreps recruiting "rankings" are a joke. It's an extremely simplified equation that looks at stat averages without taking athleticism into account at all. None of these recruiting sites are actively evaluating all of these players over the course of the season. The big guy we signed is averaging a couple blocks a game on a team that has another D-1 commit. They've played in some reasonably challenging holiday tournaments. He's as athletic as any of the big guys Saul has signed.

I've seen crazier things happen.

There are two 7' players in Southern Ohio, both within 60 miles of Athens. One just committed to OSU.

Hmm...less talk about recruiting 7 footers please.

We need more Bobcat 2000 posts. And more bacon.

I skipped the bacon at dinner tonight. I did have a Chipotle salad with carnitas for lunch today though, so I feel like got my pork in for the day.

The salad is about the best keto-friendly meal I've been able to find at a restaurant. Lettuce, carnitas, salsa, sour cream, cheese, and guac. Top it off with some Tabasco. 7 net carbs in that, if the Chipotle website is accurate.
