I'm glad to hear that the MAC basketball tournament will continue to be held at the Q in Cleveland for the next six years.

The only controversial aspect of the new agreement is keeping the women's tournament at the Q along with restricting both tournaments to the quarterfinals, semis and finals.  First round games will continue on campus sites.  For basketball junkies who enjoy an extra day of games in Cleveland, that is something of a loss.  But if you look at the entire picture of the league's finances, and the competitive advantage of holding first round games on campus sites, I suppose I support that.  Also, keeping the women's tournament in Cleveland helps the supporters from each school with travel issues.

Definitely surprised the women didn't move over to Lucas County Arena (or whatever it is called).  I know the arena was pushing hard for it, and even some of the previous talk made it seem like the MAC was giving it a good, long look.

Perhaps expansion to a fourth day can be renegotiated if economics improve faster than 6 years down the road.

I think there's considerations for staffing a second site if the women's tournament went elsewhere.

I like the first round games at campus sites. Makes going to Cleveland a little special (well, as special as Cleveland really can be).

I don't think all the teams should even make the tournament. But then again I'm not a fan of the Everyone Gets A Trophy mentality.

While I agree with you on the everyone gets a trophy bent being a bad thing, generally, do keep in mind our team would've never hoisted the trophy in your avatar had the MAC not invited every team.

Yep, I'm well aware of that fact.

But I still personally feel that a team should have to "make" a tournament, not just be included in it due to conference membership.
