I'm not sure saying second-least recognizable is exactly accurate. It looks like these calculations show the MAC has the second-highest amount of roster turnover from last year.

Yeah, that link definitely doesnt say anything about being recognizable, just roster attrition...Which is interesting.  Looks like about half of the players inthe MAC last year will not be around this coming season.  That certainly rings true with our Bobcats.

Does this mean that the MAC is headed for a "down" season?  The MAC can't afford to drop off much more than it has already...

Hopefully, the good recruiting classes of recent years will make up for the turnover and attrition.

Turnover, at Toledo for example, would be a good thing.

Yes, as in spectators will recognize fewer players this upcoming season than any other conference than the WAC.

I kind of agree with what Ted is getting at.  The MAC has been down, so losing the players who have attributed to that may not necessarily be a bad thing.  That said, there is no doubt the conference lost some quality players this past year.  I think the strong freshman/sophomore classes are more than enough to make up for it though.
