Wow, that is awesome. Doc, nobody is arguing that he can't play the point. However, he has grown into a shooting guard. You know, the position that he played his senior year of high school.

Actually, Kellogg played both PG and SG last season for DeSales.  And, if anything, he "grew" into the PG position as he only started filling that role his sophmore season.

But don't let facts get in the way of your snarkiness.

He also played PG during the Ohio/Kentucky All-Star game last year. Always brought the ball up the court.

Archie Griffin's son was the starting point guard for DeSales. Kellogg obviously handled the ball a lot and will be counted on to play both positions for us. I guess we can agree to disagree about what his primary position will end up being. Basketball season must be on the horizon because like clockwork...

I'm not arguing that Kellogg will primarily be a PG for us.  I'm simply correcting your erroneous statement that he only played the 2 last season, and that he has "grown" into that position.  He split time between the 1 and the 2 for DeSales, just like he will for us this year.

I don't get how it is erroneous to say that he played shooting guard for DeSales last year. Whatever, I don't want this take away from the fact that he is already getting some nice exposure at a national level. Should be fun to see if he or Ricardo starts next to Coop.

I did notice that ESPN had a list of mid-major teams to watch out for. We were not on that list which may be a blessing in disguise. I don't want any pressure on this team.

Funny that you don't want to distract attention from the article now, after creating the needless distraction by taking a potshot at Doc just a few posts back in the thread.

The point (since you apparently need it to be clearly spelled out for you) is that Doc suggested that NK was capable of playing the point, because in a different earlier thread the Love had worried about not having a back-up PG on scholarship.  You took issue with Doc, saying that no one has suggested Kellogg is incapable of playing the 1 (which was incorrect), and that Kellogg has "grown" into the SG position, as evidenced by the fact that was the position he played this year.  Hence, you were (at least implicitly) suggesting that Kellogg did not play the point this year for DeSales.  That was incorrect, as Kellogg played both the 1 and the 2 this year.

I'm sure you'll come up with some smug spin to your original post, and that's fine.  But if you insist on being the snarky smartass, it would help if you were clearer and more accurate in the future.

FLOMO, send me a PM if you want to continue this game of semantics and gotcha. I take it you have no opinion on him actually being on the list or about our omission (thank god) from the teams to watch. We can keep that discussion here if you care to comment.

Why do you have a picture of David Spade in a rather, uh, personal moment as your avatar?

Evenin' Monroe. Since I dabble in bridging generation gaps on Internet discussion boards, I'll tell you that Your Name's avatar is a picture of Trey Anastasio, the leader of the band Phish. Phish picked up the commercial counterculture rock mantle from The Grateful Dead when the band from San Francisco petered out in the early 1990s.

You know, if I'm Nick Kellogg or a friend of family member of his, and I read this thread, I would probably conclude that Bobcats fans are some weird and obtuse dookie butts. I include myself and my post in that assessment.

Monroe, two part question -

a) How jazzed are you about NKellogg getting this kind of preseason pub?

b) How old is too old to be getting into arguments w/ strangers on the Internets?

I think this year Kellogg's primary role will be backup to Cooper at the point for the most part. Next year with Taylor coming in I think he may shift more to the 2 guard ahead or behind Offutt with Johnson moving to the 3 guard since Freeman and Sayles will be gone.  Kellogg should get plenty of playing time all 4 years.

Not to change topic but did anyone happen to scroll down the article and look at "5 Coaches Who Don't Get Enough Love"?

Ick.

Yep, Dambrot. Although, I'm ok with Groce being under the radar, just like the team.

1)  I'm very distant and haven't seen any video, but going by what everyone says it is very nice to have the CPA firm of Kellogg & Kellogg set to prepare our returns.

2)  Why do you have a picture of David Spade in a rather, uh, personal moment as your avatar?

1) I guess you didn't click on the link that was in the first post in the thread. I also forgot that California doesn't have access to the Google, Youtubes, etc.

2) The origin of my avatar was explained a few posts above. Like usual, you chose to glance over it. I don't really get your obsession with  innuendo but that just adds to the list of mysteries.

Phish=counterculture?

While I like Phish, they're hardly counterculture anymore (neither were The Grateful Dead).

The Clash were counterculture.

I described Phish as "commercial counterculture." You know, like Bill Walton is counterculture. Or Birkenstocks.

Fugazi, now that'd be a true counterculture band.

I don't agree with the counterculture label either but I get what you are trying to say. They have often been tagged w/ similar descriptions but they have always done their own thing. Wish I could have been old enough to have seen them at The Dugout in '91...

I was at that Dugout show. Didn't know a damn thing other than what a friend told me. Pretty sweet nite. Typical Dugout night...I was 18 and wasn't even carded and drank all night.

Fugazi is counter culture...even to themselves.

I kinda get the commercial counter culture, but I don't want to get into splitting hairs (I double as a Pop Matters music critic so...it's my nerdom).

Yeah, I'm jealous. That must have been something else.
