Well, for Andrew Ruck and others out there who deplore my annual forays into building an apologetic for our lesser opponents...

Watch out for Wooster...Overall Record 25-6, NCAC 15-1 (Champions) last season.  Made a nice run in the NCAA Div. III playoffs.  Last season, they played Kent State in an exhib. game and they lost by a respectable 76-59.

Guess I'll just say there are definitely worse teams that we could be playing in an exhib. game.  They will not be throwing the ball all over the court and taking bad shots.  They will be able to handle the basketball.  They will play fundamentally sound defense.

OK...I'm ready to duck...

lol. smh. Well they have averaged about 5 losses a year the past 7 years, against powerhouses such as Hiram, Denison, John Carrell, Allegheny, and Kenyon.

anybody who remembers Ohio Wesleyan rolling into the convo back in the 80s and beating the bobcats knows you take any team lightly at your own risk.

I don't know if Wooster has a Scott Tedder on the roster, Bruce. But, I know Coach Steve Moore is highly regarded among high school coaches in Ohio for his ability to teach strong fundamentals at his youth camps. I think he's got a very high winning percentage and bunches of NCAA appearances in more than 20 years of coaching.

I think the Scots have a few central Ohio guys on the roster who I've seen play. Nathan Balch is a sharpshooting guard out of Olentangy and Bryan Wickliffe of Columbus St. Charles is a 6-5 athletic post player. If I recall, they also have a tall wing out of Thomas Worthington, Justin Hallowell.

I've actually been keeping a running tally on an interesting stat:

Ohio's record against teams McKinney starts his own thread for the sole purpose of talking about how good they are - 17-0.

Isn't the annual Halloween Bash Saturday night in Athens?  If so, I also wonder what condition our team will be in Sunday?

Any chance of streaming video for this game, or do we have to wait for the regular season opener?  I'd gladly take video without a radio feed, if that's an issue...

Scott Tedder was simply the best athlete and basketball player on the floor that night.

There will be streaming of the exhibition games, although there will not be a radio feed with it, just PA sound...

Also, new for this year, our streams are available on your mobile device.  Pretty cool actually. I was able to watch Volleyball on the way back from Miami last weekend.

Thanks!

How do you view on a mobile device? Just go to the regular website and it works (talking iPhone here)?

Seems unlikely since that's not a home game...

I just tried it out on my iPod Touch. Just go to ohiobobcats.com, select Multimedia > Live Events from the top bar. You'll come to a page with links to live events. Additionally, there is a link at the top to go to on-demand events. To see if it will work with your device, try one of those - the video from the WMU game was archived. It looks to be standard HTTP streaming, which means it will work with Apple devices. I don't have any Android or BlackBerry devices to test it with, but think it may work - if you have one, try it and report back.

The 'live events' link displays a 'your device is not supported' on my Droid 2 (which is a bit odd since its one of the few phones that actually does flash at the moment...even shows and plays the videos on ohiobobcats.com homepage.)

http://mobile.stretchinternet.com/unsupported.htm?clientI...

Perhaps they need to update their list of devices.

I get the same message; I'm assuming you're running Froyo? I'm running 2.1 and it's not supported either.

Yes, ver 2.2. I haven't seen a flash element it can't display yet!

Devaughn isn't playing. On the bench in street clothes. Injury? Baltic looks strong so far, except for that free throw stroke.

I assume that Devaughn is sitting out the game due to the disorderly conduct charge he was reported to have picked up back in the spring.  That is only a guess on my part, though.
