I could be missing a game or two in the mix, but by my count the MAC is 1-6 against the Horizon League so far this year. Hopefully we can improve that woeful MAC number on Tuesday.

I think it's 1-7 after Green Bay beat Miami last night.

Valpo's leading rebounder and second leading scorer, Cory Johnson, didn't play in their game last Thursday.  No word on their official site or message board as to whether he'll be available tomorrow.  He was in a boot for an ankle sprain and plantar faciitis (sp?).

Bobcats are 7 point favorites.  Hoping for a confidence building romp going into Vegas.

I think the Bobcats will pull this one out. Hopefully Kellogg's strong play continues.

How are we down 1 at half? 31-16 at one point and down 31-32. Not even sure what to say...

Gutty performance by the starters and Devo tonight.  We saw that we can beat them in the post and went there a lot on the 2nd half.  When we didnt make the shot, we got to the line.  Then some timely 3s by Freeman and Sayles, and good FT shooting down the stretch by Coop.  Tough win....but a win none the less.

What happened to Kellogg tonight? I got home and it was 24-10 and I didn't see him on the court the rest of the game.

This whole debacle, in spite of the win, lay at the hand of one guy and one guy alone - GROCE!  To take a team that was about to run Valpo out of the Convo and start playing games with rotations that made NO sense He deserved a loss. Tack on another Technical for good measure and to his team's credit they pulled his _ss out of the fire. HORRID,HORRID, HORRID Coaching Performance!

Sayles was the player of the game.  4-4 and 3-3 from downtown with a huge clutch three late to pull Ohio in the lead. Freeman with a huge three late and Baltic and Cooper knocking down some pressure foul shots.  Good gut check game with some pressure. This type of game helps teams get better. We learned we still suck vs the press and need to address that before MAC play starts.  In a game like this Groce learned on his most experienced players. Those that have been there and done that. I think the pressure of the postseason last year has help Sayles and Baltic to handle pressure shots and free throws.  These are the games we miss Bassett bad. Not having a second quick guard for ball handing. Teams are gonna press us to death until we show we can handle it. Bobcats win and now its the #Kansas Jayhawks  on Friday night in Vegas.  Hope this game wakes up this team and they avoid future 17-2 runs to close the first half like tonite.  Best thing for Ohio was to have to work their butts the entire second half and feel some pressure.  We aren't as good as many expected after 4 games, but atleast we escaped tonite with a 3-1 record and now face our toughest game of the year.

This was a confusing game. Like said earlier, when up 16 in the first half, why put in Jacobs and Tunji with guys like Hall and Johnson. Leave the regulars in and step on their throat. Make it a 30 point game.

Why was Tommy and DJ the ones inbounding the ball at the end. We need our best ball handler and FT shooter catching the pass. Put Asown as the inbounder.

Where the heck was Nick in the 2nd half?? I hope it was a discipline or injury (not really this) and not a coaching decision because he has been our second best guard easily.

We need a zone offense.

I dont know about Kellogg, but I did see Ricardo Johnson go into the locker room during the second half. Also, not sure if anyone else noticed but Nick had some pretty bad mental lapses and TOs early in the game.

I agree that tonight was one of those games where having Bassett OR Coleman Or Kinney or any combination of the three would have given DJ some much needed help. One of the freshman have to really step up. It took DJ some time to finally figure it out, it will be the same for these guys. Hopefully they get it sooner than later.

That said, one nice thing I am noticing about this team is that we really are not relying on one or two key players. They are important, but this team doesnt need a 20+ scoring machine every night. There will be nights when DJ puts up 20. There will be nights that any one of these guys drops 20, but I like the idea of having 6 guys in double digits scoring on a night. I'll take it and I'll take the W!

I am pretty new here but Bassett being a quick guard does not handle a press nearly as much as the fundamental knowlege that presses are handled by smart players with passes. Those players who understand the mechanics and want to be patient  seem to be present from what I can see.

Cooper seems to want to dribble through the press which we saw Bassett do at Terra Haute and then at IU. Pure speed will get you early success but It generally did not work then and I marvel that so many believe it did last year. Without game tapes to review I am at a disadvantage but the only way I know to effectively and consistently beat any press is with a pass. Not that it matters but who pressed you last year and what type of presses did they use?

The only press I had the opportunity to observe was the BSU game that was carried from the Convo on WIPB. If I remember that press caused turnovers on the inbound and not on the advancement. Tonite there were a couple of costly and simiolar gaffes from Baltic and Keely being inattentive to the inbound pass and where it needs to be for the guard to handle it while keeping himself sway from the defender.

Ricardo came off limping and on the internet broadcast you could see him walk into the tunnel and lie face down on the floor as the trainer started to work on him.  I'm guessing it was either a hamstring or a lower back issue.
