Song is called "Lux Æterna," better known as Requiem for a Dream, the movie it was composed for by Clint Mansell.

I believe the variation Evan uses parts of is this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zE-rD8vcY4U

There are lots of mixes around -- one variation was used in a Lord of the Rings film, as well.
