  • RMU loss due to inability to get stops late.  We got screened too much.  We played good D the first 31 mins., but not the last 14 mins.

  • The other major reason for the loss to RMU was missed FTs.

  • Team has been inconsistent so far this season.

  • JG likes the "mindset" of the team.  (Terminology shades of Larry?? )

  • He is very concerned about us losing leads.

  • We executed all offensive plays properly down the stretch except for one.  (My own note:  If that's true, then why did some of the possessions end up with seemingly forced desperation shots at the end of the shot clock?  I know we got fouled a few times on those, which is good, but still...I will give RMU credit for playing tenacious defense during critical possessions late, but why not just run our normal offense?  Dance with the girl you brought.)

  • General discussion of Miami rivalry.

  • T.J. Hall was the guest player tonight.  He did a good job.

  • I tried to call, but technical difficulties meant that I could not get an answer to my call.  I just got the audio of the show live.

Thanks for the summary, Jeff.  One question I would have asked, but I wasn't able to listen, would have been about the call at the end of regulation.  I would have tried to isolate DJ and hope he gets fouled if he doesn't make a layup.

I'm guessing that's what they expected Robert Morris to defend against, thus why they kicked it to Nick.

Not that I liked the call.

You're probably right about that, but DJ is so quick, I would have chanced it.  However, I'll have to admit that guy who was guarding (#4 I think) was one of the few players he's contended with who is as quick as DJ.  So, who knows, but I was calling for the DJ play before NIck's shot missed, so I'm not second guessing.  Perhaps I was having flash backs to when Snyder used to do that kind of thing with Bill Whaley in similar situations.  It usually worked for Snyder.

Nick got an excellent look on that shot.  He's shooting over 40% from 3.  I don't have a problem with that decision.

Mindset and ability are two different things.

I agree with Jeff that Kellog's shot was a very good look and I didn't mind it.  I'd rather have senior Tommy Gun Freeman shoot that.  But, you can't always get what you want.

Also, Kellog didn't look timid shooting it.  He wanted it.  And, he expected it to go in.  Good stuff there.

Thanks for the recap Jeff.
