Contenders for the title 1. Akron they got the frontline, depth and experience in the backcourt to win the MAC. 2. Ball State- With the balanced lineup and Jones inside they are looking like a serious threat 3. Kent State- Green and Sherman are a tough combo. They play great defense. 4. Western Michigan- Jawan Howard Jr coming along nice for them looking better each week 5. Miami- they have experience in the frontcourt. Tough schedule will help them 6. Buffalo- they can shoot the three ball. Darkhorse team to surprise 7. Ohio- tough to finish any higher than this without protecting home court in the MAC. unproven away from home 8. CMU- Zeiglar is a good player, but not much else. Teams have little chance to win the MAC 9. NIU - Silas getting hot gives them a chance on some nites, most nites a double digit loss. 10. Toledo-they are young but improving fast 11. Bowling Green- they are aren't very good 12. EMU- Its January and they haven't beat a division I team

Its a long season so I wouldn't throw in the towel on this team by any means until 10 MAC games are played. The problem with the bobcats is clearly on defense. Groce needs someone to step up and play better D. The recruits have been hearlded but the results so far are unimpressive. Ohio should do its typical 10-6 in MAC play season and that would put the team like a 6 seed heading into the MAC tourney with a first round home game. It sounds like 20 wins and a CBI bid on the road vs. an MVC team for 2010-2011. Defense improves and the outlook is a lot better.
