Trying something different

I have only missed two games in the Convo this year, Delaware and Texas A & M CC. Since the Cats have won every time I am not in the Convo, and they seem to lose every time I am in the Convo, I'll take one for the team and stay away Saturday. I am playing in a big poker tournament during the game, so I'll DVR it and watch it after I get home. One caveat though: If I bust out before 2:00, I'll drive over and jinx the team as usual. Let's hope for the team and my wallet's sake, I am not in Athens Saturday.

My particular jinx in attending games is overtime. Last year, I went to six games and saw four overtime games and five overtime periods. This year, three games, only one overtime game, but three overtime periods. Total between the last two years: 9 games, 5 went to OT for a total of 9 OT periods. It's somewhat surprising I was not at the 4 OT St. Bonaventure game, but I was at the football game instead.

If you listen to the game on a headset while you're playing in this tournament... nobody, and I mean NOBODY will be able to get a read on you.

Maybe I'll try sunglasses, a hoodie and a pair of those huge Dr. Dre headphones from Best Buy. I'll listen to rap and hip-hop until 1:30, then pretend Rob and Russ are rapping the pregame notes. When I stand up and yell, "Bang!", nobody will know if Tommy is on fire, or I have two aces in the hole.
