I highly recommend those of you who are interested to pick up a copy of the book "Play Their Hearts Out" by Sports Illustrated writer George Dohrmann. It is about a AAU youth basketball coach who starts a team of fifth-sixth graders and follows them through to high school. I requested an Amazon gift card for Christmas just so I could get a copy of this book, because I had heard so many great things about it.

Absolutely incredible story about the state of youth basketball in the US, how kids are tossed around the system, and coaches looking to turn one player into their cash cow.
