With Kent State's victory against Miami today, four teams are tied atop the MAC East at  3-2: Kent State, Miami, Buffalo and Bowling Green. Akron is 2-3 and we're 1-4. If we take care of business against the West these next six games (knowing Ball State will be really tough), we could keep ourselves in position to still finish near the top of the standings or possibly even in first place.

I appreciate the optimism, but ...

We are 1-4, 0-3 at home. we MAY have an outside shot at a tourney home game and that's a realistic goal to strive for if we can turn it around. But you can forget about first place. Goal 1 is to actually win a close game.

I wasn't saying it would happen. Just that being two games back is not a lot. Most of the time a 1-4 record to start the year leaves you no chance for first place and not much for finishing in the top half of the standings. The chances in this case are a little higher than usual because of the balance.
