We are also in the midst of the first four-game home losing streak in the history of the Convocation Center, and the first since 1967-68 (the last season played in Grover).

Unacceptable. You don't have a crowd like today and blow a lead like that in the second half. I've been behind Groce from the start, but now in my eyes, he's losing some of that sparkle. He needs to take a look at what he's doing and seriously consider some massive changes to his offensive philosophy. Just unacceptable to be losing this much at home.

Is there no pride in defending the Convo anymore?

After the BGSU game Groce said his team lost its poise. Didn't hear his comments today, but inside the Convo it looked like that happened again. There's no one person screwing everything up, but IMO you gotta question the coaching at this point with comments and performances like that.

I'm concerned about this streak continuing with Bowdry coming next time. Who'll stop him inside? Not sure if EMU has anything else going on though.

This is a crazy statement to see on this board when just a few years ago TOS would get blamed if it snowed on a gameday....

Todays game was one of the worst offensive games I have EVER seen....I haven't seen spacing on the floor this terrible, honestly ever that I can remember. I have seen middle school girls basketballs summer scrimmages with better offensive flow and a least a little bit of understanding that you can't stand ON TOP OF EACH OTHER and not move to get open, Horrible.

Groce sold me that he didn't have a clue what was happening today after an inbounds the DJ threw the ball immediately to Buffalo as soon as the ref gave him the ball. Groce called a timeout and screamed at Tommy from about the buffalo bench to OUr bench....while DJ walked right by and sat down. Tommy wasn't even a part of the play, but Groce was angry and appeared scared to confront DJ so he went after another player.

I think a lot of this falls on the coach. I have stated all over this board that the offensive sets make now sense at all. It's just high post screen for DJ so he can get doubled and give it up. Why?

I don't know the ins and outs of how the game is managed since I am not on the bench but from a spectator's stand point, it seems like poor game management.

This should be wearing on fans. We aren't moving forward at all!

I'm probably going to be racked over the coals for this one, but I think DJ is totally out of control. He's probably the most talented player in the MAC, and one of the most talented in the nation, but the COACH does not know how to coach him and how to make him "play within himself." Now, I'll grant that you don't put the kind of leash on a player like DJ that you would on a player of lesser talent and skill, but nonetheless he needs to have some limits placed on him and to be able to learn from his mistakes. in a word, he needs "coaching up" and I don't see it happening. The staff did a brilliant job of "coaching up" KVK who got better each year in measurable and demonstrable ways. DJ seems to me to not be much different this year than he was in his freshman year. In fact, I think with AB on the court he was sometimes a better player because the two had good chemistry between them. There's no one to take AB's place this year and DJ sometimes seems lost in space. He still makes some incredible assist passes and takes some excellent shots, but then the next thing you know he's jacking up an off balance shot from beyond NBA range or he's putting up a floater as he drives toward the rim as it is being guarded by three big guys who have collapsed on him. He's in the air and has no choice but to got through with his shot which has about a ten percent chance of going in the hole. I LOVE DJ. HE WAS MY FAVORITE PLAYER ON THE TEAM LAST YEAR AND IS STILL MY FAVORITE PLAYER. WHAT I'M SAYING HERE I'M SAYING IN LOVE. DJ NEEDS A GOOD COACH!

I don't think DJ's shot selection is a result of not being coached up, its about not having confidence (rightfully so) in the players around him to get it done. The announcers on ESPNU we're going on about how DJ needs to start scoring more and stop passing, so when he starts chucking it up its because he's trying to make a statement- a quick score, back on D, etc. When the shots are falling its lethal (Georgetown), but wen they're not its frustrating. I bet if you ask him he'd tell you the last thing thing he wants to do is have to chuck up 3s to try to pull out a win.

If anything I think Kellogg needs to be treated like Coop was last year-play him, good or bad, 35min+ every game. Because we can't rely on our big men we need somone like AB at the 2 spot that can shoot from 3 and drive to the rim, and Kellogg has that potential. Let Hall and Freeman share time at the 3 and bring in Johnson at the 2 when DJ or Nick take a breather.

Saw that too. Bizarre. Would like to see a replay of the turnover that sparked that outburst.
