Hopefully having two great shooters, in addition to Cooper's ability to penetrate, will open things up for our forwards, as it semeed to do Wednesday night. It will be hard to double-team in the post.

I meant to post something about Nick's play last night....even through all the turmoil this year, he's growing and maturing every single game. I really like what I'm seeing. He is deadly from beyond the arc and his ball handling was on display last night when DJ sat for a few minutes. Deft. Future looks good for this one.

If Washington can develop any kind of consistency inside it will go a long way towards getting Tommy and NIck a lot of good looks from the outside.  It was also nice to see Nick ball fake and get a couple of midrange jumpers. He'll get a lot more room if he shows he can take guys off the dribble.

Interestingly, I believe I remember reading that one of Nick's goals for this season was to become a higher percentage shooter from beyond the arc.  Mission accomplished.

Plus, he's at 82% on free throws and getting to the line way more than Ricardo or T.J., he's second on the team in assists and his assist-to-turnover ratio is better than the other two new guards. Not that they're bad, just Nick is playing at a high level.

Also been meaning to post about Nick - as I've mentioned to some of you in the Convo, his grasp of the game as a freshman is impressive, but even more impressive to me is that he put in about a season's worth of improvement just in the non-conference.

Hopefully a sign of more good things to come from Nick!

For as much as we've seen the flaws of this team, if you go to Cleveland with the conference's best point guard and two guys who can hit at a 45 percent clip from deep, NO ONE wants to play you. If Ohio gets anything, anything at all out of Baltic and Washington, it's built for tournament time.

A side benefit of D.J.'s injury last night was Nick getting a nice long run at the point.  He had a nice 5/1 assist/to ratio in the second half.

Agree that there are reasons to be encouraged.  We have to play D as well.

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....
