I also was there at BG for the first game. It was frustrating. It was one only MAC games were were not in at least until the final minute. BG really had it locked up with several minutes to go. They shot extremely well and dominated the paint, so it was a lethal combination. Bowling Green is dead last in the MAC in 3-point shooting and among the bottom 10 or 15 in the country. Yet as has been the case, they shot it well that day against us. They also don't get to the foul line much and don't especially rebound well offensively. Defensively, they avoid fouling. But overall, even if you just consider MAC play where they are 7-5, they are a slighly below average offensively and defensively. They've been adept at winning close games (Ball State by 1, two OT games, a few games by 4-6 points). They definitely have been struggling lately. They had it together last time they played us, but now maybe teams have figured them out. They've lost 4 of the last 5 overall after starting 6-2 in league play. Calhoun has been a great post player for them, though, averaging 15 a game in MAC play. Scott Thomas is at about 14 a game. Dee Brown and Jordon Crawford have been decent scorers, but BG's shooters have just bad bad. I feel pretty confident about this one. I think we win by 10-12 points and should have control throughout most of it. I think this could be another good game for our shooters, so I hope they knock them down. It'd be nice to be above .500 in MAC play for the first time this year and get some more confidence going into Saturday's road trip.
