Charles Ramsey is still the coach. How is this possible? In 6 years, he has had three 300+ RPI seasons. This is where the conference commissioner or director of basketball operations needs to step in and put a stop to this.

The MAC had 4 teams with 300+ RPIs this year. CMU (307), NIU (318), EMU (324) and Toledo (338). Toledo will be fixed by Kowalczyk. NIU has fired Patton. Looks like CMU is determined to keep sucking as they gave Zeigler an extension (through 2014) after he landed his son. So now EMU must pull the trigger on this guy. Dare I say it but Bryant, in its D-1 hoops infancy, had a 253 RPI this year.

Ramsey's "record":
Year - RPI (Record)
2005-06 - 306 (7-21)
2006-07 - 234 (13-19)
2007-08 - 237 (14-17)
2008-09 - 318 (8-24)
2009-10 - 205 (17-15)
2010-11 - 324 (9-22 with 3 wins vs. non-D1 programs)

Zeigler's "record":
Year - RPI (Record)
2006-07 - 315 (13-18)
2007-08 - 226 (14-17)
2008-09 - 184 (12-19)
2009-10 - 297 (15-15)
2010-11 - 307 (10-21 with 7 wins coming in MAC play)

Ernie Zeigler's .416 career winning percentage ranks him 3rd alltime in Central Michigan's history behind on Charlie Coles (.522)  and Dick Parfitt (.514).  Not that that's a reason to hang onto him but we know that if he is fired his son goes. I don't see any chance that he is fired at this point since Central doesn't spend doodly on basketball and they aren't going to want to pay two head coaches.

It's entirely possible that EMU's administration hasn't noticed that the season is over.

Ted, I will say as a friend that you are starting to appear a wee bit obsessed with seeing Charles Ramsey fired.

I know of coaches that were hired with an 8 year blueprint. Maybe his is nine?

The question is, how are you going to bring in an upgrade?

Aside from a rag, chloroform and a taping a pen to the guy's writing hand, that is.

If a coach has an ounce of confidence in his abilities to get a head coaching job, he's not going to start there.

I guarantee John Rhodes would take the job.

Rhodes is pretty happy right now in Ada.

Interesting thing about Ramsey's contract.  It includes a rollover clause, which means he gets an additional year in perpetuity unless they specifically terminate him.  If they don't do it in Saturday, he's under contract for the '12-'13 season.

He might be happy in Ada but there's no way he turns down a Div. I offer.
