Base salary was $325,000 this past year, but will make $640,000 total after incentives.  His new deal gives him a base of $1.2 million.

Awesome.  So happy to see Butler and VCU lock coaches up over the last two years.  Huge for midmajor teams continuing to make noise on the national scene.

With that salary and VCU's facilities, how can we still refer to them as "mid-major" ?

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....

I'll start with the fact that VCUs men's basketball budget in 09-10 was $3,000 different from ours, and ranked 113th in the nation. Their 2.3 million budget last season was less than half the average of every Big 6 conferece.

They are still defined by the company they keep. They are not dominating the CAA and their non con schedule is still going to be a tough road to get games. No one is going to want to come to Richmond from the Big 6 conferences. That is a butt whippin waiting to happen You think Duke would want to venture outside Cameron in December to flirt with VCU? Till the NCAA forces them out of their comfort zone Pitt/Duke /OSU are not heading out of the friendly confines to p[lay what they consider a dangerous mid major  . Give UK credit they played Portland at the Rose Garden this year.

Our surroundings define us and for the biggest portion of the year Butler, San Diego, Wich St and VCU are still mid majors

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

The game loves and rewards those who love and reward the game

You won't catch me using that pejorative term in reference to VCU, Butler, or any other school.
