Bob Huggins and some other Big 6 snobs have suggested in the past that the "mid-majors" should have their own championship tournament, separate from the Big 6.

This year, the NCAA Tournament is halfway there.

Is Bob Huggins really considered a Big 6 snob, even though he spent most of his career coaching in the Great Midwest Conference and Conference USA?

He apparently has become one.  I've heard that he's been pushing to have two championship tourneys for D1:  One for Big 6/non-Big 6 Top 25ers and a separate one for everybody else.  I guess that once he became an "in", he forgot what it was like to be an "out."

Butler's 2nd half shooting debacle is setting the stage for all of the "majors" to make a run at this insanity.

It's a shame that all Butler did in the second half was chuck up a bunch of threes.

It is a bigger shame that a proven cheater (www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-02-22/connecticut-s-calhoun-will-be-cited-by-ncaa-over-recruiting-espn-reports.html) like Calhoun can ride off into the sunset with no accountability.

I guess my use of the word "all" is a bit of an overstatement, but more than half of the Bulldogs shots were from the behind the arc.  Still quite disappointing that this was the same team that I saw beat ODU, Pitt, Wisconsin, Florida, and VCU.

I'm beginning to feel like anger towards guys like Calhoun is like being angry with baseball players for doing steroids.  Not unjustified, but perhaps a little misplaced.  If the overseeing bodies did the jobs they claim, this wouldn't be a problem.

Look at it this way. In November they're going to raise a national championship banner and he won't even be allowed to attend the ceremony.

I feel the same way.  The NCAA really showed Calhoun that cheating doesn't pay, didn't they?  It's akin to the sternly worded letter that baseball players used to get for testing positive for steroids.

I know your remark is tongue in cheek, but I don't think the suspension kicks in until the Big East season starts.
