It's too bad things didn't work out for Ramsey, but he had ample time to turn things around at EMU. For whatever reasons, it just didn't happen. I would think that they may have a hard time getting top candidates to take an interest in that job.

As all of you know, I make no apologies whatsoever about my personal support of our student athletes and our athletic programs. Since I have been honored to serve on this Board, we have won over 18 Championships. More importantly , our student athletes' GPAs for the 2010 Fall Semester is over 3.1 (the second highest in School history) and the Department's graduation rate for the academic year 2009/2010 was 64%, 24% higher than the general student body graduation rate for the same period. Further, I firmly believe (without speaking for any of my colleagues) that successful athletic programs (particularly in Football and Men's Basketball) increase enrollment, school pride, as well as financial support from prospective donors.
