Clearly that's not going to hold up all season but the MAC has gotten off to a pretty good start and has had a couple of near misses too. Hopefully the league can move up at least a few spots from last year.

Akron's win against Miss State will look even better if Miss State holds on to beat No. 18 Texas A&M.  Up 16 under 8:00.

But, Western Michigan's bad start to the season is shooting the MAC in the foot.  And to think, they were doing a lot of talking pre-season about getting in the Big Dance.  They have the talent, they just need to start playing.  Of course, they did lose Juwan Howard, Jr. to transfer.

Last night's 2-1 effort pulled the MAC to .500 at 19-19 (against D-1 schools). Kent St. came close to beating Cleveland St. (currently #1 RPI team) which would have really helped. But the Flashes did sell out the MAC Center. As of today, MAC stands #13 in RPI and 14th in Sagarin.
