I'm sure there are lots of choices, and I haven't really thought about it except to note the starting freshman point guard on the Ohio Ladies Basketball team is Kat Yelle.

Spindle Graves. In football, Ray Bloch, who played offensive tackle 1977-81.

In football it's hard to top Wolfgang Kratzenberg.

Hard to beat either of those. First met Spindle in fall '77. He was in for a recruiting visit. Awesome 'fro. Funkadelic on the turntable, and for some reason incense burning (?) in Ryors Hall before the walk over to the Convo and the game.......

Was it this album?   WMMS used to play this song every Saturday night at 1:30 and of course Alice's Restaurant at 2:00 on Thanksgiving Day.

Nope, "One Nation Under A Groove". John Patterson (6'11" Center - was Spindle's "host" for the visit) played it Constantly!

Ahhhhhhhhh.  Nothing beats Maggot Brain.  Thanks, Al.  It's awesome to revisit one's youth from time to time.

I believe this is the album that my white as rice roomie decided to play during a brief visit from Walter Luckett for class notes one night.  Walter never came back.

That he was on the same team as Ewane Nanji, Raynald Ray, and Steveland Hookfin... it was a golden time for Ohio on the radio.

Although I don't remember either of these guys being of great character, I liked Dennis Chukwemeka and Matron Church.

Seeing as how this has morphed into also talking about football names, how about: Tajmahal Henley.   His friends just called him "Taj."
