Is anyone else watching this game on ESPNU? Akron is looking really impressive.

Diggs and Zeke are looking good. This would be a nice win for the MAC if they can hold on.

Is this the year the Mac finally starts moving up the conference rankings and maybe gets two teams in the big dance? This is a good start.

I've said for several years (ok, maybe 3) that the MAC East is better than the SEC West in basketball.

Rooting for Akron is like cheering on the Taliban.

Reminded me why I dislike the 2K Sports Classic so much.

Akron looked pretty good, did a very nice job of turning turnovers into fast break points.

The SWAC is better than the SECW. SECW is the whole reason the SEC did away with divisions.

Akron did look good.  I'm glad to see them playing an early and tough non-conf game.  I'll almost never root for Akron unless it's for the betterment of the league, and last night was just that.

Very impressed with Akron's depth and athleticism. They've added new players to a solid returning cast of Marshall, Ctvinovich, Abreu and McClanahan. Abreu, if under control, might be the second best pt. guard in the MAC and Marshall could be the league's best 7-footer (not saying much) since Kaman.

I wasn't that impressed with Abreu. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Brian Walsh is starting for Akron by league play.

It's OK, they're playing D3 Hiram tonight to assure that their OOC schedule averages out to their usual D2 or so level.

Teams Akron is playing this season: Valpo, Duquesne, Detroit, West Virginia, VCU, Marshall. Their SOS is going to be much better than ours. And don't forget we're playing Marietta.

Abreu is gonna oook good aganst a lot of people but DJ for some reason gets in his head. Walsh will not move Abreu out but he may move mcLanahan over. Big fella , if they got a coah over the summer may become a defensive force and his shot was already good with in 12 feet but all I have seen vs us is frustration. Hope that says the same..O zone needs to help out on that one.....he takes things VERYpersonally. Cvet is the key to them vs us. If we get a snalller wing on him he will post and beat him . If we put a big on him that player has to dfend outside and the
drive/spin he has been working since he got there to make effective

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

Last saturday I had a chance to catch the akron-detroit game after watching a good mt. union football game. Akron is good but not that good. They beat Detroit pretty good but Detroit only had 8 players dressed and they all didn't play(injuries and suspensions). Ohio would have beaten them just as bad.
