The toughest thing about this road trip is the trip itself. Portland is still trying to find who they are. There are no gimmes, but this should be a game won by at least 10.

It's funny you mention that.  During last night's game I was looking into them a little bit.  I'd agree that the trip should be the hardest part of the game.  Let's hope that's the case.

Most seasons Portland is a tough out at home.  So despite their slow start, Ohio has to come to play.

I'm guessing, based on Sagarin, that Ohio will be favored somewhere between 4-7.  Extra long road trip gives Portland a few extra points.

If Ohio plays hard D, I'd say we have a chance to force turnovers and get out in transition.  That is a lot better than trying to grind it out possession by possession.

We planned this trip well. Spent the night in Michigan, fly today, two nights in Oregon. And given our depth, I'm not worried about fatigue. Portland's not very good, dropping six in a row to D-I opponents. They've not really been competitive on the road. Even at home, they lost by 10 to a so-so Washington State team. Their offense is bad and their defense is downright atrocious, hovering very close to the bottom in D-PPP. They don't take care of the ball much, either. And McKinney points out that Portland has been good at home. That's true the last three years, but the players responsible for that are gone. And before that, they struggled to win half their games on their floor.

Another advantage: West Coast refs tend to call the game looser. That should help us. The one thing Portland does well is shoot free throws.

This is a game I expect to win.

It looks like they've been on the road a lot lately. They also are inexperienced.
Good to see we will be able to watch the game

Portland's stat lines don't look good, but they've played a very tough schedule so far.

Appears that Ohio will have the edge in quickness.  Hope we can bring the defensive intensity needed to win this one tonight.  Also, opponents of Portland have been able to get a lot of assists without turning the ball over a lot.

Portland has done pretty well in rebounding.  Ohio needs a team effort to win battle on boards.

Don't settle for quick threes.  Exploit edge in quickness.  Pass well, get steals and stops and get out in transition.

Ohio also has the edge in experience.  Hope that will help overcome playing away from home.

I noticed too that the ESPN online scoreboard shows 20 min left in the 1st half and no score.  But I clicked on the game portal and it shows them warming up so it hasn't started yet.

Jacking up stupid 3's instead of driving to the bucket again.

Edit: Then we go on an 11 point run.

Portland wants a half court, slow game.  We are more athletic so let's use that and press them full court!

I enjoy the term, "Terminate the dribble."

We have a 12 point lead at this point.  Please finish this off and leave no doubt Bobcats!

1 more rebound
