No one, including me, likes the way the team has played over the last four games.  However, I predict a recovery from this slump, hopefully beginning Wednesday vs. Buffalo.

Even MAC teams who have huge years in the league have a stretch where they are all out of sync.  Hopefully, we are getting ours out of the way now.

Remember, Akron won the MAC tournament last year just a few weeks after getting completely embarrassed in Athens.

Noticed Purdue went into Penn State and lost by 20 a few days ago.   Butler just lost to Detroit by 11.  Does that mean that suddenly the players don't care and that Painter and Stevens no longer know how to coach?

As I said to a friend yesterday, the MAC's NCAA representative in the 16-team era averages 5.667 conference losses and a tournament seed of 4.333.  The last couple games are a setback, but the sky hasn't fallen on our heads.

All presumably true, but even if we make the big dance by winning the MAC tournament, these losses contribute to ending up with a garbage seed- one that makes it more difficult to win a first round game. I'll take getting in and getting beaten up by a 2 or 3 seed, but I'd prefer getting in and playing a lower seed. And, yes, I know our seed vs. Georgetown wasn't a good one and we still pulled it off.

These excellent points, Jeff.  You have a way of putting things into proper perspective.  I, for one, appreciate it -- at least some of the time.

Well, you don't exactly violate the First Amendment.  Bobcatattack.com is a sheltered workshop where paternalism runs rampant because we all have effectively self-committed ourselves to this online insane asylum.   However, you do violate the "spirit of the First Amendment" on occasion.

Totally agree, and it (seeding) is why I was so excited about our start.  The last couple games are a setback, no doubt about it, but some seem ready to write off a season that still has tremendous potential.

In previous years the team's emphasis seems to have been on offense and the defense (or lack thereof) has cost games.  This year there's more emphasis on defense and offense lapses have been the problem.  Maybe the past four games are part of the process in learning defense.
