We would be remiss if we went unti Wednesday without talking about Ty. He had 13 very good minutes Saturday and was the only forward able to stay on the floor. Good things are coming from him.

Agree.  From my layman's analysis, it seemed as when he was on the floor we were much more physical and he is able to provide a big, athletic presence for us when we fail to have it from anywhere else.  I thought he changed the dynamic of the game for his 13 min.

If I recall, he had off. reb. on consecutive possessions in the 2nd half, both resulting in baskets.

I'm excited about the potential that Goard has.  And yes he did have some key rebounds in that game....one he dished to Kellogg for a 3.  I think Groce has to find a way to get him AT LEAST 8-10 minutes each night.  He and Stevie Taylor are the only ones that come off the bench that go as hard as they absolutely can on both ends for however long they're out there. I like those 2 freshman.

What would Charles Barkley do?

I'd like to see him get more minutes.  Who gets less?  Whoever is cold that night.  Another advantage of a deep rotation is to be able to sit players who just aren't in a rhythm that particular day.

We have too many 1 and 2s and not enough 3s this year.  4 and 5 have been a problem too.

I agree about Turk's activity on the board's and defense.  The latter is the heart of who we now are and the former is what we need more of.  Conclusion:  Give him minutes until he proves otherwise.

The number of minutes as a whole aren't as important as to how a player gets those minutes.  Speaking from experience from 40 years ago, I performed better when I played for an extended period rather than constant in and out substitutions.  If I have a criticism of this staff it's the downtown O'Neils revolving door at times.  Goard seems to play best when he's in the game for a period of consecutive minutes.

Agree as others have. Get Turk more minutes!

I would guess we'll see major improvement in Turk before his sophomore season.  He'll likely put on muscle weight during the off season, which will give him more leverage to battle the titans inside.

I agree that he's making nice contributions now when he's in the game.

He done a great job in his role. Like using him when we press the other team. He has played well as a freshmen. His role and minutes are a lot how Devaugh Washington was used as a freshman.  I think Goard will be a bigger factor next year along with Smith.
