Over the last 3 games (RMU, BG, Buffalo), here are some of our combined statistics:

  *FG shooting 64-182 = 35.2%
  *3Point           12-68    = 17.6%
  *FT                   44-70   = 63%

 (stats per ESPN.com box score)

However, we've managed to absolutely dominate the turnover margin...forcing 74 and committing 46 over the three games. I suppose what I'm saying is that clearly our defense is at least keeping us competitive but we certainly aren't taking advantage of the turnovers we're creating.  The numbers above are very ugly shooting numbers in all 3 categories.  I personally thought our defense tonight against Buffalo was great, and we rebounded very well...however we chucked 22 3's and missed 10 free throws.  Offensive slumps like this will doom us down the stretch in conference play and has to be fixed.  When I watch our offense in the half court set, there is absolutely no structure....DJ is doing waayyy too much dribbling and we have got to quit relying on 3pt shots. Kellogg is the only player on the roster right now I feel confident every time he shoots a 3.  Don't mean to rant here, and believe me I'm happy with a win over a good Buffalo team.  But we have a lot of room for improvement on the offensive end.

Can anybody drive to the rim?  Do not like our reliance on the three-point shot at all.

I really liked the defensive intensity vs Buffalo.  Stats can be deceiving sometimes because at least five or six of the Buffs' TOs were unforced.  Some of those could still be a side effect of the stepped up D getting into their heads.

Some of the offensive problems vs Buff was due to their really good half-court D.  The guarded the perimeter tight, making it difficult to move the ball around, and then collapsed when the ball came to the post, shutting down the easy shots there.  Still there were times when the lane was open and instead of driving, the Cats went for a brick three.  It would be interesting to see if shooting percentages have gone down in college ball since the three was put in.

We will survive.

well, well, well....would you look at that? Our numbers against Akron just happened to be right on schedule with our last few terrible games.  All still while winning the turnover battle.

 FG = 35.5%
 3point = 23.8% (5-21)j
 FT = 66.7%

What in the world is our problem right now?? We are playing really, really bad basketball right now and you cannot deny that. We have so many problems to fix it's unreal. And as someone said on another thread "we are the worst 13-4 team in the country right now".
