Opens up the inside for dump downs, outside for uncontested shots. Execution was impeccable. never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. About five minutes of second half we couldn't miss, but...What we did do was, in the second half, force a boatload of turnovers that  led to a lot of nicely executed transition baskets. I'd like to see a stat that showed how many possessions Kent had in the first 10 minutes of the first half in which they did not get a shot off. They still finished with a nice percentage for the game, and outshot us by a nice margin statwise, but if you don't get a shot off it doesn't hurt your percentage. Right? RS Bobcat Back to Top Pataskala General User Member Since: 7/8/2010 Location: At least six feet away from anybody else Post Count: 9,365 Status: Offline     RE: Finally    Posted: 1/18/2012 11:32:34 PM  This team plays sooooo much better when they go man to man on defense.  They were playing a lot of zone in the first half and it seemed to lull them to sleep.  Kent got a lot of slashing layups and dunk on the zone.  But the Cats came out with man to man for almost all the 2nd half and it shut that down a lot.  The man-to-man seems to generate more enthusiasm on defense, creating more turnovers and easy transition buckets.  Hope we see more of it. I watch this and wonder why an athlete in this situation can't just display how much fun they're having with a great big smile or chuckle. Then to see Nick do just that after his buzzer-beating 3 at Akron and again last night v. Kent made me smile and told me that Nick is an athlete who doesn't have to prove how tough he is and is actually having fun playing a game. When he got that break away after a Smith block, he ran the whole way down with a lil smile and after he hit the lay-up he had the biggest smile.
