All the way down the stretch I kept flashing back to the 1973 game vs. Toledo. UT had dominated the first half and built the lead the 17 with 17 minutes left. But the Cats whittled away and had it down to one in the last 30 seconds (and this was before the 3-pt shot was part of the game). The Cats got the ball, worked it around to Walter Luckett at the top of the key with about five seconds left. He went up for a jump shot and all five UT players collapsed on him. But instead of shooting, he dished it to Dave Ball underneath who layed in a bunny for a one-point lead with about a second to go. Toledo fumbled the in-bound and the game was over. The Convo had 10,000+ that day too and the place was nuts with a constant roar for about the last five minutes. Greatest comeback I've ever seen and greatest experience I ever had at the Convo.

Today's team did it down the stretch a lot like that one did. Tight defense and lots of penetration shots and +1s. I think DJ's three to make it 63-60 was the only shot from beyond the arc that they took during the last five or six minutes. Great win on a great day. I hope they get the video up so we can watch it on demand.
