Saturday was my first game in the Convo since the 09-10 season.  That was too long, and it shall never happen again, no matter what Marissa says (hopefully this movie reference is understood by at least 3 people . . .)  I'm hoping to make 2/3 home games in February now.  Athens and the Convo are just too much fun to miss.

Kudos to the athletic department for knocking this one out of the park.  My Convo gameday is now spoiled, and I look forward to when we can surpass that atmosphere again (Brandon Hunter day anyone?).  I'll remember this one forever, and it's right up there with the 2004 MACC game versus Buffalo and the Georgetown win.

These four threads should make all of us in Bobcat Nation smile:

MAC Board
ZipNation
MiamiHawkTalk
BG Board

I love, love, love that we are the attendance envy of the conference.  The Post or athletics should run with this theme.  I'm thinking that an article in the Post that lets the student body know how much we're looked up to by our peers would instill more pride in all of them.  I know that's how I feel when I read some of these threads.

A few of my favorites:

Although the attendance was better today, today's Ohio vs Miami game drew over 13k today!!! 13,000 for a MAC game. They drew more in one game than we have drawn in 8 of our games combined!!!!!

I'm a little jealous of OU and their great support. When I used to go to Cleveland to the MAC tourney, the OU crowds were better and having more fun than the Miami crowd.

By any measure, the number of fans who go to Ohio U hoops games is the envy of everyone else in the MAC. They get 6-7K when their teams are so-so. They go crazy during those years the team is on a roll. Congrats to you guys!

Just a great weekend.  I had a few fellow alums with me that were never into basketball all that much when we were in school.  They're both asking when we're going back for another.  Great stuff.

On to WMU.  Go Bobcats!

Could Miami fans be more ironic? Judging by their own comments they turn their noses up at OU and any thought of us being a rival. Meanwhile, their attendance sucks and isn't getting any better.

Keep dreaming 'Hawks.

Impossible to know the exact numbers, but I think we all know how significant it could be, and that we would DOMINATE the MAC for this figure as well. I wonder what the MAC attendance figure is for "visiting team fans" in each of the arenas, and what school is the leader? We all know who the leader is - we inflate all of the attendance numbers for the away games we play at each each year!

I can attest to that as I am in those arenas when the Cats are there and when the rest are there. On that subject , I have been at Wright and a few others when the Cats are there and when other teams come.....we travel well...not Kentucky, kansas or Duke well but we travel well.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

The game loves and rewards those who love and reward the game

OUr attendance at the away games arenas is not just "travelers" - a LOT are local alums who come out to the local away venue - and in my experience that contigent is also MUCH better than the balance of MAC schools. And per your Duke Philly/NYC post - I bet we beat Duke in those arenas (though they get many more opportunities)!

Ahhhh yes

You said it much better than I ...Over the years I have been on the road with the Cats I have met sooooo many folks. YOu are right, George Mason, HOly Cross, Delaware, Vegas,Philly......many of the alums in all those areas turn out well as they do around OHIO and well ....anywhere we have been from Peay to wherever.....

Thank you for setting that straight as it is most important to pay respect to OUr alumni base. They are very good and I need to take a moment and thank them for all the hospitality and time they have shared with me personally. I truly enjoyed meeting folks wherever we were.
