Everyone may not be aware that there is a game of monumental importance tonite. Bryant (2-18) plays Farliegh Dickenson (1-18) for the right to get out of the league cellar. I have no idea what TOS's record is at Bryant, but I ask- "How is that 6 year contaract looking now?  I can't believe that he still has a job as a head coach at Bryant.

Ok, I had to look up his records at Bryant, 8-21 ???? and 9-21 then 2-18 this year. His second year was so bad, they don't even list the record under his resume, just saying something like it was a rebuilding year.

His resume starrts out by saying that there is no doubt that Bryant has found the right coach to take them to Division 1.  Most of his article is about his stellar career at Ohio.

You're probably just having fun, but it made/makes sense from the standpoint that Bryant is transitioning into D1, and will be complete in September.  I have to imagine that's a tough enough process jumping from D2 talent to D1 talent that you also don't want to muddy the water with a coaching change.  Just survive the process, get eligible, and go from there.  I would suspect he's judged on what he does next year and beyond.  I'm sure they have their BulldogAttack contingent who wish they could have somehow retained Max Good who is doing a pretty good job at LMU, though.

I'd like to see them do well next year.  One because I root for the Ohio ties all other things even (Gardner Webb, Western Carolina, Bryant, Bradley, etc).  Also, Frankie's a senior, be nice for him to end his career on a high note.  I see his dad is on the staff at Bryant now, too.

I'll stoke the fire somewhat, though.  It looks like his recruiting processes are still a little iffy.  Pretty sure his nephew is on the team.  The bio for Joe O'Shea mentions his dad Tom coached at St Michael's in Vermont, and if I recall we had them into the convo for some exhibition games.  My guess is his highlight recruiting video was a little better than his uncle shoooting around in the convo on the bobcatattack video back in the day.

O'Shea should get every one of those six years to build the program. And he will. It's tough enough to make that move, let alone in a region where there are dozens of programs  that get to the recruiting feed trough first.

The problem is, last year was really, really bad for Bryant, but this year was supposed to be better with an upgrade in talent and one of their top players returning from injury.  But they have actually regressed in terms of wins and losses.  I'm sure few Bryant fans expect great things yet, but they may be concerned with this regression in a season when some improvement was expected.

Think they will hit the California JUCO circuit for a quick influx of talent?

Why does everybody consider that last year was so bad?

It is my sincere hope this video emerges again.

Van, thanks for calling me out on that.  I need to correct what I posted.

Two seasons ago, Bryant was 1-29.  Last year, they improved to 9-21 and played considerably better.  You would think that the progress in the right direction would continue, but Bryant is now 2-18.  That's back to the way it was two years ago when the excuse was that Bryant still largely had a Div. II roster.   But, I don't think that excuse can be used now.

Why this regression?

Life on the road in the NEC.

In all seriousness, they are a very young team.  Ten of their players are either sophomores or freshmen.  He'll get at least one more year.

There is just a flat out big difference between recruiting D2 players and D1 players.  Until Bryant gets settled in the NEC they will not be competitive.  I think this is their FIRST year eligible for Championships, etc.  Can you imagine, he's been trying to recruit a D1 player and telling him he has no league championship or NCAA opportunities.  Virtually impossible.

Bryant with a classic O'Shea losing at home to 1-18 Fairleigh Dickinson 66-63.  Surprised he didn't recruit anyone from that community college that supplied knuckleheads with suspect jumpers on a regular basis.

Mychal is a flat out Stud, currently among the leaders in scoring in the BBL and very much in the running for League MVP
