I've been a supporter of Ball State's coach, but it's hard to ignore the constant disappointments the Cardinals come up with. Last year, they somehow lost the West despite starting 5-0. They're 1-11 against the East the last two seasons (that's probably why). They just lost at home to Toledo to drop their 7th straight. Jones and Davis are both graduating, so things don't look to get any better.

I don't know if anybody should be fired for going into Savage and laying an egg.

And the 6 previous losses were on the Eastern swing, which doesn't compare unfavorably to the rest of the division.

But on the whole, I don't understand how Ball State doesn't do better.

Ball State lost at home to Toledo - no question that's a bad loss combined with six in a row before that.

Toledo loss was at home. Their non-conference schedule is ranked 299, and they only managed to go 7-4. Only two of their wins for the whole season are against top 200 teams.

Isn't it somewhat odd that the real slide began when one player got eligible? It would be a real turn around if they actually went through the pain, accepted altered roles and learned to play around that player. Chemistry and understanding roles is everything.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
