Great start, but it will have been for nothing if we don't start getting it kicked into gear.  Starting Wednesday.

Good thread, but I think we'll look back at last week as the one that defined our season.

I don't think it is fair to say this week will define our season because we are back at home.  If we win 2 more home games, I'll be saying "ho hum."  If we ever want to get over the 9-7 hump, we need to beat some non-terrible teams on the road in this conference.  So I agree to this point, last week defined our season...And the final 2 weeks of the season (3 road games + Akron at home) has a chance to redeem last week and redefine our season.

March 5 - 12 will define our season.

Its already a regular season success.  19 wins - likely to be 22 wins with 9 or 10 MAC wins.  Good season.

Now we'll see if we can get hot and get to the NCAAs.  Will be tough to do with the roster limitations.

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....

I agree with pretty much all comments here.  There are different ways to look at it.  I think getting one of the top 4 seeds is critical.  Also, if they want to have the NIT as an option, they're gonna need to get four of the remaining six probably so that there are some more decent wins in there.

I agree, our regular season was a success but not ending on a great note.  But there is still time to fix that.  But the real test will be Cleveland where we need to go and show the MAC what basketball is all about.  And we got the coaching stafff and players to do just that.

Not sure I drink the quality of kool aid you do, but I agree there's time to get past the current bumps in the road.

I am just trying to stay positive here OU Country.  I have been just as upset as the next guy on here during these past few games.  But I think we are deep enough and talented enough to overcome this.   One thing is you learn from your mistakes and one thing we are not learning from is shooting too many 3's.  If they are not dropping, go inside and that's where Baltic and Keeley need to step up.  Keeley is but not too impressed with Baltic.  He's got some good moves but sometimes just take it hard to the bucket.  Smith needs to help out down there as well and I would love to see Nick develop a nice drive attack when his outside shot isn't falling.

totally agree with the need to be positive - just not sure I'm quite as positive as you are GreenFever.  I stayed away from the board after the EMU debacle for that reason.  Also agree that it's time for someone named Baltic, Smith, Goard (given time to play) to elevate their games a notch - at least on the boards and defensively.  Ivo has become the player I'm most frustrated watching, but it's only because I'm of the opinion he can be a really good MAC player.  The one thing that I have to say, despite the frustrations through the last week or so, is that OUr team at least appears to be a TEAM, and a team of mostly solid citizen's.  That's not something every school can say.

I agree that the MAC tourney is what will really matter at this point, but I just can't help but think that if we don't start playing better now, it may not happen later.

3 of the MAC East teams swept the West.  Another had 1 loss.  We had 2 losses, and that other team that we barely beat at home had 3 losses.

We play 2 of the 3 teams who swept the West in their gym.  Then we get the best team in the conference in Athens.  The way we've been playing of late, if we win one of those I'll be impressed.

Hopefully they'll figure something out before the only week, year in and out, that matters.  See you in Cleveland.

Goard? The only scholarship player in the country whose defined role is to come in and play defense against the inbound passer and then take a seat at the next dead ball?

That's why I said "given time to play"...listen, I know his role is limited, but someone has to step up.  I'm just hoping there's an open scholly for a big man during spring signing to push the guys we have.

The BGSU game is critical. We gotta find a way to edge BGSU for 4th. We are in deep trouble if we miss the quarterfinal bye. Akron, UB and Kent State are sitting pretty.  I think were gonna be in a battle with BGSU and EMU for 4th. Akron has pretty much eliminated Ohio from catching them. We would have to sweep UB and Kent State and hope we take #2 on tie breakers. Toledo and EMU losses are killers, but wins @UB and @KSU would undue the damage provide we beat BGSU, Akron and Miami.  This team has its backs to the wall now. Will then fold like they did the last two games or do they show the fight they had earlier this season. Will find who wants to win on this team. Are they gonna go all in or are they gonna fold.

Gives me no joy to say, but I can't see any of our guys suddenly playing a lot better.  I hope that I'm wrong.  The coming games need us to play a lot better.  Maybe everyone will play a little better.  Maybe our team play will be better.
