Akron- BG, at Ohio, Buffalo, at Kent State

Buffalo- Ohio, Miami, at Akron, BG

Kent State- at BG, Ohio, Akron

Ohio- at Buffalo, Akron, at Kent State, at Miami

Looking at this, we definitely have the tougher remaining schedule.  I feel we can beat Buff tonight, take Akron at home, lose to Kent, and finish the regular season with a W at Oxford.  The sad thing I believe is Buff has the easiest with 3 home games.  So this win tonight is more crucial than I thought.  We are definitely the tougher home game for them.  Kent doesn't have it bad either except taking on us and Akron in the same week.  And just a days of rest between the two games.

This is where the men step up and be men and win.  I think we have the team, the best thing is our depth and I am glad we finally have that.  That is one thing, besides a dominant big man, we really were needing.  We can do this, it just won't be an easy road.

Few thoughts here -

1)  Don't count BG out of this yet.  For whatever the reason, they have a tough home floor, and as Jeff McKinney mentioned not long ago, that home court seems to be getting stronger.  So BG is gonna influence this one before it's all said and done.

2)  Miami gave us a real gift last night.  Now it's time to take out the Beefs.

3)  I wish I knew what all the tie breakers are, because I think it's almost a certainty that they'll come into play.  Guess I'll worry about that after tonight's play wraps up.

I asked Jeremy Guy on Twitter if 2012 tiebreakers were the same as 2011. But, of course, no response.

If we go 2-2 it's going to be tough for BG to pass us.  They have Akron and Buffalo on the road with Kent and Fiami at home.  If I recall the tiebreakers go to your record against the top teams (vs 1, vs top 2, vs top 3, etc.). Right now we are 2-1 against the top 3. They are 0-3.   If each home team wins then we would finish 1-3 and they would finish 2-2.  We would be 3-3 against the top 3 and they would be 2-4.  We would actually win the tiebreaker with a 1-1 record against Akron compared to their 0-2.  So essentially BG is going to have to beat us by two games the rest of the way to pass us. This is all assuming I know and remember the tiebreakers correctly.

As of last year, the second tiebreaker after head-to-head was division record.

This means Ohio would beat BG in any tied scenario because BG was one game better ouf the division (so if Ohio and BG finish with the same overall record, then Ohio would have a one-game better division record.)
