Is anyone else rooting for our rivals to win their Bracketbuster games today besides me?  Other than Muck Fiami I find myself rooting for everyone else to win today.  I hate the Zips (even though I went to law school at Akron but please don't hold it against me) but I really want them to beat ORU today; I think it's important for the MAC to make a good showing.  The football side upheld their end of the bargain during the Bowl season, now I want to see the MAC do the same thing in hoops.  Am I crazy for thinking this way?

What's good for the conference is good for us, so while I often find it hard to remember while watching the games, yes we want Akron, Miami, et al to win.

Always root for the conference out of conference. Only way to improve overall stature.

Agree in BB. For various reasons in football, I don't.

What do you have to lose from an OOC win in football?

Not a good day for the MAC...Yikes.

I'll tell ya where we'll go. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talkin' bout a little place called... ATHENS.

A spot in a bowl game among other things.

Right now the Summit is basically delivering a smack-down to the some of the MAC's finest on National TV.  Anyone want to start talking about how great the MAC is?

Both home games for the Summit teams, and those two teams are much better than other Summit League teams.

Kent/Ohio/BG would be able to beat Summit teams 3-4-5.

MAC is still a better conference.

Looks like the Summit made a clean sweep of the MAC when NDSU took it to WMU this evening.

F... the rest of the MAC today.  Every team ahead of us in the conference standings lost, and I say GOOD!

We have a better overall record than Akron, Kent and Buffalo.  Them losing only helps us in the eyes of the selection committees for the NIT, etc. should we not win the Conference tourney.

Kind of agree here. We will be competing with these teams for "postseason", so any bit of separation helps. Of course, the ideal scenario is to win the MAC Tournament!!

Well yesterday essentially clinched that the MAC will have one team dancing this year.  Akron now 8-8 against top 200 RPI teams.  They really needed to win yesterday.

Makes you wonder if the MAC will ever get back to where it used to be. The league continues to disappoint.
