Alan and Mike both noted my original error. I apologize for the mistake.

Ohio has not swept the MAC at home since 1985. I had not yet reached my first birthday. A win Sunday changes that.

Also, it would set a new Convo record for wins. At 15-1, we already have more home wins than any other season in Bobcat history. 16-1 would be quite the achievement.

Crazy to think that would be the first time we've swept the MAC with as well as we usually play at home. Looking back, though, we always have at least one MAC home slip-up. Sometimes against a head-scratcher like NIU or Ball State.

It's ashame that we lost to Robert Morris or else we'd be looking at an undefeated home record of 16-0! Here's to a great finish on Sunday.

Not true Dragon.  According to the press guide that I'm looking at we did it in 84 - 85.  Of course if it is misprinted, I apologize.

And, prior to the Convo we did it on at least two other occasions.  A quick look at the aforementioned press guide, reveals that we also did it in 1959-60 and 1960-61.  Perhaps, JSF meant "in the Convo in my lifetime."

Those years were during Frank Morgan's tenure as SID, Alan, so yes, probably a misprint or typo.

Back in the mid-60s, Ohio won something like 33 in a row at home.  But of course that was pre-Convo.

We swept the MAC in the very first season the Convo opened, 1969-1970. The largest crowd in Convo history even witnessed the sweep, 14,000+ on Feb. 28, 1970, over BG.

I did see at least four seasons where we lost only one regular season MAC game at the Convo, and the team that beat us was F!@m!.

<memory loss> . . .  And, for the record I was at the aforementioned BG game with my little sister. It was Little Sisters Weekend (since morphed into Sibs Weekend) and I was in grad school at the time.

LOL. You should know  you have to give me a few minutes to proofread my post before you respond. I did edit it before you posted, so does that mean it never happened?

Again, hate to correct you JSF, because I'm always getting corrected and you're point is taken...this is a great home season...but the 1969-70 team apparently went 11-0 at the Convo.  So while the wins total can be added to, the loss to Bobby Mo keeps us from the chance at the record books on winning percentage.

And, I might add, over much better opposition -- including two B1G teams.  (Did I give you enough time to edit this time, Mike?)

The '84-'85 team did even better. Man, I'm sucking tonight.

Yes we did......that team overachieved and was fun to watch.
