Hypothetically speaking, if we take care of business in Kent on Wednesday, who would you rather see get the win in Akron? A Zips loss opens the door for a late charge to the regular season title and a #1 seed, but a Buffalo win means that the Bobcats will need to win at Miami or face (possibly) losing the semifinal bye.

You never want to take the safe route -- or root for Akron after their antics last night -- but the difference between the 2 and 3 is much larger than the 1 and 2.

What do you all think? I've gone back and forth on this one multiple times and still can't decide. And this is all predicated of getting a tough road win against a desperate team.

The safe thing to do is root for Akron.  it would be interesting to see what would happen if Akron loses on Wednesday however.  They would be facing their biggest rival on the road to either win the MAC or finish as the #3 or #4 seed if Buffalo and Ohio win out.  That would be fun to watch.

I think anorris's signature applies here.

I'm fine taking the 2 seed with Buffalo as a 3. I'd prefer save an Akron or (quickly melting down) Kent matchup for the potential Championship game. Keeping those two teams on the other side of the bracket is best case scenario for us in my honest opinion.

I've heard some coaches say they don't like byes that much because your first game is against a team that has already settled in to the tourney; your team has butterflies while theirs doesn't.  Plus, the 1 & 2 seeds will have six days since their last game, while 3 & 4 will have only five.  After doing two games a week for the past two months, that's one less day of rust to shake off.  In that regard, a three seed probably isn't that bad.  That said, if I had to root for one, it'd probably be Akron.  That way, no matter what happens vs. Kent, the Cats would still have the leg-up on a tiebreaker.  Head-to-head with Buffalo & Kent, the Cats would be no worse than 3-1, Kent would be no better than 2-2 (they split with Buffalo) and the Beefs would be 1-3.  Keeps the Cats' future in their own hands.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

I'll take the contrarian point of view.  I'm not basing my decision on fear of losing; we should be thinking OUr team is good enough to beat both Cant and Fiami this week.  That clinches 2nd place.  Why not go for the regular season banner?  If it's 2-way with Kron, OUr superior division record (or OUr 2 wins over the next highest ranked team, Buffalo, if they use that tiebreaker) gives us the edge and if it's 3-way with Kron and the Beefs we're 3-1 against them and win that tiebreaker.

GO BEEFS!!!!
