Then you owe it to yourself to watch these BG - Kent highlights. You'd think it was a Kansas - Baylor game.

I'd say that several of those dunks would have made it onto ESPN's top ten if they paid any attention to the MAC or STO.   That no look lob to Oglesby reminded me of Cooper's lob to Washington in the Georgetown game.  May I even go as far as to say that it was more impressive.

Rooting for Akron is like cheering on the Taliban.

Dunks are a sign of bad defense...big holes allowed right at the rim.
I don't like the 3-point shot, but 3 points is generally considered more than two.
Play solid basketball--defense, team offense--and win.

You can win the battle of monsterjam.  I'll take the most points at 0:00.

Because you can either dunk or win, right?

I don't even understand Mr Slavin's attempt at the prose/poetry jam up there

The three ball has energized the game in many ways. Mikan, Chamberlain and Alcindor were among the dominant forces in the game along with Reed, Unseld and household name centers playing and dominatiing when the ball ran through the center. Seemingly the presence of a big man is all that it takes to make basketball real in the far west mind. The three point shot has brought an interesting chess game to the court and opened up the offenses and approaches. There is absolutely not enough space here to devote to the emergence of talent that is mainly due to the institution of the three point line.

I had more respect for the game when guys showed more put-it-on-the-floor-and-get-to-the-rim ability.  Now, there's a greater emphasis on guard's (or anyone) being able to drill the three ball.  Makes sense since scoring 3 is often more beneficial than scoring two.

Call it my prejudice.  I grew up in the era of Oscar and Frazier & Monroe and West.  It's probably the haze unclarity of youth amd memory but those guys and their teams seemed to play better team basketball than what we see today.  They were not nearly the athletes that we see today.  But I enjoyed the tremendous rivalries and smart basketball that they played.

It was more fun when the ball was made of leather.

And you couldn't carry it.

Many of you are old enough to remember when the dunk was banned from college basketball. It was BORING.
