Ohio athletics just released attendance figures from men's basketball regular season:

-Average attendance was 6,177, top in the MAC (Toledo was 2nd with 4,216)
-8 games with 6,000+ fans, 4 games with 8,000+.
-Overall attendance was 105,001, fourth highest in Ohio history.
-This season had the second highest ticket revenue in school history.
-Miami and UNC-Asheville were the #1 and #5 ticket revenue games on record, respectively.
-O Zone had three of top five student attendance games this season (Miami #1, UNC-Asheville #2, Akron #5)

Congrats to the O Zone and all Ohio fans who showed up to the Convo this season. GO BOBCATS!

Even if the numbers are sometimes inflated, we consistently outpace every other MAC school by a large margin, both on the student side as well as the "gray haired" turn out.

When the Nelsonville bypass is finished that number will jump by a couple thousand a game.

Next step is to get 32/50 converted into southern Ohio's first interstate so we can speed up that trip from Cincinnati/West Virginia.

Holding my breath in 3... 2... 1...

Unless I am missing your sarcasm how do you think that Nelsonville Bypass will impact attendance that much?  I mean bypassing Lancaster only saved me 15 mintues on my average jaunt to Athens, I expect the Nelsonville Bypass will only save 10 minutes max.  That extra 10 minutes isn't going to really make that much of a difference and it will still be at least an hour to get from the eastside of Columbus to Athens.  Big non-conference wins that increase one's profile and favorable game times are what drive fans to attend, not an extra 20 mintues total roundtrip saved in driving.

I think these are the two most important things. It's great to have good attendance but it's really meaningful to get revenue out of it. Money changes programs. Have to keep growing revenue. And while you can debate attendance figures, you can't argue about actual dollars.
