My advice for everyone:

ENJOY the moment. Savor today, this whole day of excitement and hype. Lube up with a few pops and get ready to yell your throat out. (Mine is still hoarse from last night.) Hopefully you're here in Cleveland like I'm fortunate enough to be.

As a fan, it's hard not to look ahead. I'm a dreamer like everyone else, so my thoughts tend to run wild: If we win tonight, what seed do we get...  can we pull another upset in the NCAAs...  can we maybe hit the Sweet 16...  how good can we be next year with everyone coming back...

But try not to look ahead. The future is never guaranteed. How many teams have we had that we penciled in as great that didn't materialize?

Trent's junior year, coming off the NCAA appearance and then starting with the Preseason NIT championship... didn't make the tournament. Then Trent went pro. ...

We go dancing in 2005 behind two great freshmen and almost beat Florida... but then Fears leaves and Williams never makes it back to the Big Dance ...

We lose only one senior after the epic run in 2010 and should be great in '11... but then Bassett gets in trouble and departs, and last year's team conks out in the MAC quarterfinals.

I'll also suggest this: If we win tonight, we might be saying goodbye to Groce. Who wouldn't hire a guy who has recruited this well and would have two NCAA trips in his first four years as a head coach? John Groce is a great guy -- I know him personally -- but it'd be totally understandable for him to leave if he got that chance, even with such talent returning. I would shake his hand and thank him for giving us his all.

Focus on tonight. Tonight will be loud, crazy, heated, and HOPEFULLY wonderful. Focus on the moment, and bring your "A" game as a fan -- even if just through the TV from thousands of miles away.

Stand up and cheer, and bask in the experience. I'm so happy today to be a Bobcat!

I agree with this post. This has been a great season, and win or lose, we may be looking at the end of the Groce era.  You never know when these opportunities will come again, so you have to enjoy the moment.  I was a freshman in 1994, and I figured we would be in the NCAA tourney every year after that team's run.  It took 11 years to make it back to the MAC championship game.  I went to the NCAA tourney game in Nashville, and even though we lost, it seemed like we were destined to return the next year. But we had a rough patch after that. Things seem to be lining up for us to have a great year next year, but you never know what will happen with the coaching staff, injuries, transfers, etc.   So let's enjoy tonight and bring home a win.

Is it too early to start the Groce's next job thread?

Geesh . . . sometimes I think we tend to jump the gun a bit on this board.  Let's just savor whatever run this team has left -- hopefully in the NCAA tourney -- and then let the chips fall where they may.

I know Groce will be considered, but what really good jobs are out there right now?  Illinois, for sure, but media says Shaka Smart is the guy Illini would probably want.  Would Groce really wanna leave for someplace like Rhode Island?  Nebraska?  Danny Nee went there and at best had only moderate success...not much of a recruiting base there.

But if he does leave, I sure hope Jeff Boals is given every consideration by our brass.  Absolutely luv to see him bring all his recruiting connections to his alma mater.    Might be able to keep Evan Bradds in the fold...

While the more we win the more greedy I get, these are the games you dream about.  Enjoy it.
