Could be some real exciting opponnets in the NIT for us. Last year Dayton was a 2 seed (or maybe a 3) in the NIT and was sent on the road to the College of Charleston for the first round (which they lost) because the game was scheduled the same night as the NCAA First Four.  I wouldn't expect much flexability from the NIT's side. I'm not sure what would have happened had OU had to play a home game this Monday. 3 games would have had to been rescheduled with no open days until next Sunday.  Would they have moved every game back a day?  Irrelevant now, but that wold be my guess. Tourney Champs Belmont UNC-Asheville Harvard* Murray State Davidson St. Mary's At-large Shoe-in Temple UNC Kansas Syracuse tOSU Memphis Wichita State Washington Kentucky New Mexico Of the 16 remaining teams, only 5 have already lost in their conference tournaments and aren't guaranteed a spot. Lost Conference Tourney Drexel Valpo Iona Oral Roberts Middle Tennessee Of these I think Drexel has a shot at getting at at-large.  The other four are almost assuredly going NIT. Two of those (Iona, Middle Tenn) were already ranked ahead of us in the Nitology so they aren't a threat to grab one of the 16 spots available behind us. That leaves 11 teams still in their conference tournaments that could lose and grab an NIT bid. Still Allive for NCAA Stony Brook (in finals vs Vermont on Saturday) Montana (finals tonight vs Weber State) Long Beach State (tourney starts tomorrow, strong at large candidate) Utah Valley (tourney starts tomorrow) Akron (semis Friday) Savannah State (play in quarters vs Hampton tonight) LIU (in finals vs Bobby Mo tonight) Bucknell (in finals vs Lehigh tonight) UT-Arlington (tourney starts tonight) Mississippi Valley State (tourney starts tonight) Nevada (tourney starts tomorrow So IMO we stand a pretty good chance of getting an NIT bid if we happen to fall short this weekend. Using RPI as a base here is what I found.  Overseeded means that they received a seed higher than their RPI ranking would suggest. Underseeded means they received a seed lower than their RPI ranking would suggest. Overseeded +4 Alabama (1 vs 5) +3 Washington State (2 vs 5) +2 Virginia Teach (1 vs 3) +2 Colorado (1 vs 3) +2 Miami (FL) (2 vs 4) +2 Northwestern (4 vs 6) +2 Murray State (6 vs 8) Underseeded -5 Harvard (6 vs 1) -3 UTEP (5 vs 2) -2 Missouri State (3 vs 1) -2 College of Charleston (6 vs 4) -2 Kent State (7 vs 5) No mid was overseeded over a big.  No big was underseeded at all.
