I really hope he's in...though I do worry that regardless he may not be there mentally.  Being a freshman and being disciplined like that and having to watch from home as his teammates make a run and win the tourney is tough so I worry about his attitude.  Hopefully he proves me wrong and makes the trip and plays his energetic defensive/ rebounding minutes like usual.

What would Charles Barkley do?

Minus a small catastrophe I'd expect TJ Hall to get his minutes at this point regardless.

For chemistry (long term) reasons though it'd be great if he could go.

You're right...TJ has definitely made the most of his added minutes and he is playing with a lot of confidence.  I am so excited for the growth of this team next year. We are going to be scary good!

Hope Goard's aboard.  Playing but 6-8 minutes he could be very effective for us.

Where is Arkley..are any of the Pulitzer winners asking questions about Goard..he could be a valuable weapon against the longer athletic teams in the tourny.

Actually Arkley has a story about it in his blog (linked at his twitter page). Basically Groce gives it a no comment. Says he'll get with Goard and his family soon enough. Doesn't sound good for the tourney.

My bet is we've seen the last of Goard at Ohio.  Its not 1950 anymore.  There's no longer any Hoosier type moments when you kick a player off the team for the MAC tourney and NCAA tourney.

If he leaves, I understand fully.

Thats a shame. I liked his hustle and inbounding defense. Hopefully the rumors are wrong and he toughs it out.

What exactly are the rumors?  He's leaving the team because Groce disciplined him for missing class, or some other act of academic negligence?  If that's the case, I'd say good riddance.  I certainly, hope, though that that's not what's going on.

There, fixed that for you.  Since you nor anyone else knows the reason, why start a specific rumor and then editorialize on it even further?

Sorry, I was referring to the rumor/speculation that he was gone/not going to be in nashville/would transfer. I wasn't referring to the rumors regarding the underlying reasons (I haven't heard any rumors as to underlying reasons)

To me, Goard is going to be one of the most exciting players to watch develop over the next few years.

Hope that opportunity doesn't get taken away from us!

I agree.  Hopefully he's working hard to finish a couple finals to pass classes, and can at least join the team on the trip to Nashville.

Really?  A kid makes one mistake, and you don't even know what it is, and you say "good riddance".

What a terrible thing to say about a young freshman student athlete.

About an hour ago he tweeted "Shout out to BobcatNation they showed me much love...."  I don't like his past tense use of show.  I would hate to see him go.

He is dripping with potential. He showed much more promise this year than Devaughn did his freshman year. With or without Kadeem Green, it would suck to see him go.

Not to speak for OCF, but I understood his comments differently. I think he was saying that if Goard is leaving the team because he is unhappy he got disciplined, then he doesn't want him anyway.

Of course, we don't even know if Goard is leaving and certainly, if he is, we don't know the reason.

If true, the revolving door continues at Ohio. This is not good and something to discuss after the season.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant.  I hope that's not true. I hope he takes to discipline like a duck to water and he's back either this week or next year with a desire to be great both in the classroom and on the court.

I didn't start the rumor, I was only trying to figure out what it was all about.  My opening two sentences in that post ended with question marks.  There were all kinds of innuendo being being dropped all over the place and I was somewhat confused.  My statement was a hypothetical of the "if then" variety.  Thanks for helping clarify my post, UpSan.  I appreciate it.

My point was there is huge difference between a student/player leaving because of academic problems and one leaving because he is upset at being disciplined (character issue).  As it stands now, it has been presented as a "grades" issue and no one should be interpreting nor posing as "rumor if true" a character issue.  If it ends up being the case, comments can be made then.  As Upsan said, "we don't even know if Goard is leaving and certainly, if he is, we don't know the reason."  Given that, let's be careful with speculation, especially if it questions his character.
