I find it interesting that this is an issue and that the NCAA actually has addressed it.

Wonder if there is a way for a manager to have a portable set up that can measure the set up before each game and let the players know in pregame meetings what they will encounter.

really remarkable.

I have long theorized the rim at which we shoot in the second half is softer than the other.

So maybe that loss at Bobby Mo was a "rim job"?

Therefore also - more dunks, less worry. Well, guess that was true before we knew this. So - No More Bunnie Lofts - Dunk It (Reg)!

It seems like we do tend to shoot better and score more in the second half more often than not.

The article is from 2007 by the way.

I gotta think there are SO many other variables that would have to be included in any real scientific analysis of how much rim tension effects % of shots going in - i.e. angle/arc of shot, velocity, spin, WTF - maybe even humidity and other factors effect on ball.

"Shooters bounce"? I think it has more to do with the shooter than the bounce.

Good shooters hit more shots more likely because they hit less "rim" anyway (whether all net OR off the glass).

And I think has nothing to do w/the rim. JC might say it is due to his phenomenal half time adjustments and inspirational/motivational half time speeches......and JG before him......

that is true, I found it while looking for something else. Did not make it any less true or pertinent.,,, maybe moreso if the NCAA is getting lax on testing and enforcement.

Irregardless, Rims are the one thing ALL shooters .....make that MAKERS,,, (lotta shooters in this world not a lotta makers)....comment on is the rims. THey deal with backgrounds, balls, lighting but they all talk about the rims. I found the article compelling considering all the comments I have listened to regarding the rims.
