...you really, really have some explaining to do.

Once again, uninspired coming out of the locker-room. No adjustments made.

I've seen this movie before and I know how it ends.

Is this team not responding to its coach or is this coach not responding to his players?

What exactly is our offense besides chucking 3s from NBA range?

Box score shows 18 turnovers ..... don't see any next to Christian's name. You'll rarely win any game with that many turnovers. Those are miscues that happen on the court --- by the players. Oklahoma had 12 steals; we can't afford that many in any game.

This is driving me crazy. With Groce we always came out with fire after  halftime. Even in-game it was difficult to make OUr Cats sloppy and uninterested. Watching this game on TV I was very disappointed to see Ohio demoralized when Pledger couldn't miss and we couldn't make. As soon as the Sooners were clicking on offense it seemed like Ohio's offense became sluggish and many offensive sets were blown up before they got started. I'm not feeling too great about this team right now...

This time, a whole team shoots out of their mind in the second half.  As I said before, it's become a joke.  No longer is it a question of if someone is going to shoot lights out, it is when?

Rooting for Akron is like cheering on the Taliban.

bottom line.  this team just isn't very good right now.

I've said it...as have others.  But Christian and these players DO NOT gel...at all.  Now that might change in the future....but right now there is a major divide.  You can tell by body language.   This team isn't buying what Christian is selling....

Regardless...Ivo can't turn it over 6 times.  Can't turn it over 18 times as a team.

And half our shots are 3ptrs......I hate that.  With Cooper, Offutt, Kellogg, Baltic...we should be getting to the rim more.  Ivo obviously HATES shooting anything 18-feet or less.  No idea why Offutt and Kellogg don't penetrate more....or Cooper for that matter.

It's major-league frustrating right now.

And I'm not too confident it's going to get any better.

We are 13-games into the season....and it looks like this team has already quit.

Sad.

We need to develop an offensive identity when our 3 pt shooting sucks.

Offutt is key in this, IMO. I think he could be a solid mid range option. Kellogg driving to the hoop is nice - against lesser opponents, not against good teams.

I would have liked to see Green/Wilkins at least get a few mins.

Christian and Groce are two guys with different approaches. I think, in a way, Christian is really confident and maybe a tad bit complacent with this team. Hopefully once MAC play starts, we grab an early road W and the train starts rolling.

Christian loses me with each post-game interview.
He never seems to take responsibility.
Blames it on the bad weather..not enough practice time...ball seems to move better at home.

Enough already.

Wilkins was unavailable tonight after the ankle injury he suffered late in the game against UMES.

I don't think offense has been the problem and wasn't in this game. Ohio shot 47 percent. Only problem on offense was the turnovers. Second-half defense was the problem in this game.

I think OUBobcat John has identified the culprits tonight, Cooper, Offut and Baltic.  After watching the game I can't believe there were only 18 turnovers.  Then agin, there were probably that many bad shots and defensive play from the three of them too.

No inside game besides Reggie who can't play big minutes because he's not in good shape.  Perimeter guys cannot create their own shots.  No offensive boards.  Kellogg must be hurt because he ism't doing the only thing he does well.  Walt looked like he had no legs as he was continually short.  TJ Hall can't make a shot.  Too many TOs, many careless ones, especially by Ivo.  Smith has no offensive game and isn't on the glass.  Now tell me how you win with that, especially on the road.  Add a stupid,  selfish technical in a tight game

I don't think Christian and the guys are gelling.  We have a great group of young guys who play hard when they feel like they have a strong coach behind them and he is used to running to jail to bail out thugs from junior colleges.  I am so afraid of this program turning into a fiasco with guys not coming to play good, hard ball but to party and smoke weed and beat up their girlfriends.  We need to drop him.  I still can't think of a single reason Jeff Boals doesn't get a chance or even Dustin or bring back Geno.  Heck anyone but Christian and O'Shea would be good right now.  I don't see how you can blame the team when they have proven themselves already.

I hate to say this but, the only problem with the guys is Cooper seems to have an ego problem right now.  If he tries to set up a play and it doesn't work out, he seems to blame his teammates really quick instead of taking the responsibility himself.  Don't get me wrong, Cooper is a great player and a reason we have been where we have.  But, maybe someone who is a good coach should sit down with him and remind him it's a team sport.  Not one player wins or loses the game.  Watch Stevie, he does a great job of leading while he is out on the floor.  Should Stevie take over, no but I am looking forward to next year with him at the starting PG.  Being a junior with two years under his belt and being under Cooper should make him a force to be reckon with.  And I hope he gets it instead of this Bean guy.  Stevie has proven he deserves it.

so what you are describing is a complete breakdown of the system.....because the same players rode a system that covered many of their weakness' and exploited their strengths.
.......
Your laundry list is the same traits the guys had last year .........nothing appreciable has changed except how the chess pieces are played.

Regretfully, I think this really does hit everything and as Borna states, these same guys did these same things well just last year.  Tough puzzle to solve.  Human nature tells you to blame the only new variable in the equation (the coach) assuming everything else has remained constant.  Really can't add much more to the list you created other than offensively last year, while we did rely a lot on the outside shot, I recall more cutting to the hoop which resulted in more open drives to the basket.  Right now, there is nothing easy about most offensive possessions.  And when Nick, DJ and Walt aren't hot, we're in big troubles as the other scoring options are few.

I think a good analogy would be comparing this team to the NY Giants.  Had a good team playing at an acceptable level when they caught lightning in a bottle.  The following year they went back to who they really were, an OK team, but one where everyone expected them to recreate the year before. That is a really hard thing to duplicate in most sports.  That is what we are watching here.  We're just OK.  You look at the same players and expect the same results,  but they don't make plays enough to win and, on occasion, can really look bad for stretches.

I still believe Jim Christian was a "quick" hire and not the right candidate for the job. So with that said, it is time for action, replace Jim Christian!. I hope AD Jim Schaus is reading these message boards. After last seasons great run and the core of returning players, I think everyone who follows OU basketball was really looking forward to watching  a possible top 25 team. So as a long time alumni supporter of OU football and basketball programs, in my opinion (of course everyone has their own opinions as well), it is clear to me that the current coach cannot map of coaching strategy with the strengths and weaknesses of his players. Although the team had early wins against weaker opponents, we should be able to compete and win against the likes of robert morris, and even oklahoma. Time for a change.

BobGross....You are ready to change coaches after 12, 13, 14 games  ????  Sure glad you are not our AD !!  We have a team that has the same strengths and weaknesses as last year.  Yes, we caught lightning in a bottle last March and had a great run, but repeating that in a new season is just not as easy as you seem to think it should be.   Christian is coaching these kids up in practice, believe me.  I live in the area, and am fortunate to be able to watch lots of practices, and get to see what is going on, as I did while J.G. was here.  Our team is working very hard in practice, and they look to be taking to Coach Christian very well.  The individual personalities and talent levels are what they are!   We will be competitive in the MAC, and will have a chance to win it.  Are we an over-powering, can't miss team that is going to waltz thru the MAC schedule???   Nope, we are not that good a team, and we are going to struggle at times, just as we did last season.
Please do not make any coaching decisions until we see where the program is in 3 to 4 years.!
